Hold on as this is a long one! As a group of busy ladies my friends and I schedule a ladies night dinner once a month. Something we all look forward too. This particular night out we Chose Joey Crowfoot and I must say by the end of the evening were so dejected and furious at the way we were treated throughout the evening we will never return. It will be surprising if we give our business to the company in general ever again. The evening started off nicely drinks and starters were ordered. as the starters came out they began to remove the menus. When stopped and explained that we had not yet ordered our main dishes could they send over our server so we could do so we were met with annoyance. Once dinner's were served there were some minor issues but nothing we couldn't overlook AT THE TIME. we finished our main courses , nobody checked in with us to see how we were doing or to offer additional drinks we had to stop someone. When one person did stop someone to request some cutlery that was needed once again we were met with annoyance as though we were a bother. Eventually dishes were cleared and we were asked if we would like dessert, at the time we did not, This is where things went pretty sideways, Nobody returned to us for over 30-40 minutes, our server walked by and refused to make eye contact even though we were trying to get her attention We were not even offered our bills. After sitting so long we had decided we might as well order after dinner drinks . We finally had to stop someone (not our server , we hadn't seen her since the beginning of service) Again met with annoyance when we explained that several of us would like specialty coffees and now after such a long wait, dessert. AGAIN, met with annoyance as this was not our waitress but we had asked for her and she never came around. After coffees were finished again we had to get up and ask for our bills. once they arrived not a single one was correct, this time we did have our original server as we went through the different bills she huffed and puffed and explained that this was our fault because we split appetizers and had another waitress help us...we kindly explained we had no choice to have someone else help us as we had asked for her and she never came as well as we asked if it was ok to split the appetizers. She explained twice that she would send over the manager to talk with us because now we were frustrated with all that had transpired and she explained rudely you need to be patient. At no time were we rude or impatient, quite frankly a 2 hour meal took 3 almost 4 hours because she disappeared. The manager never did come to speak with us but he did proceed to talk poorly about us to his team within ear shot of our table. As managers, CEO'S and various other leadership roles that this group of ladies hold we were disgusted with this behaviour. We had been patient and polite all night only to be treated with such ignorance and blamed for the issues that arose throughout the night. ARE YOU KIDDING!!!!! We could have been rude, we could have been jerks , we could have demanded the manager, discounts and a plethora of other things but we didn't. Seriously JOEY Crowfoot DO BETTER BY YOUR CLIENTELLE. At the very least do your jobs and do not blame your clients for issues they have no control over. Seriously disgusted , FYI the words sorry and owning your mistakes goes a long way with my generation. Thanks for ruining our evening with your poor display of client care. We will...

Walking up to the main entrance, so swift & fast, the welcoming host named Laura was eager as heck to open the door for my party & get us situated! It was fantastic being greeted by such a bubbly personality on a special day.
After she took us to a prime booth location, we were greeted by our server in training - Kaleb - an absolute stud of a host! We had zero idea that Kaleb was IN TRAINING until the end; he presented himself and took action, as if he was a seasoned host. His timings on refills, menu orders, visits asking if we're all doing alright, etc., were perfect - not over or underwhelming. Kaleb certainly made the night enjoyable because during the busy, Saturday dinner rush, we never once felt like we were forgotten about or left behind. Also, his memory is unreal, especially after going table-to-table, zero issues with orders. I'd definitely ask to sit in his table zone next time I return!
Between Kaleb and other JOEY team members, our table was always being cleaned up (dishes removes, etc.), promptly, deliveries of drinks, appetizers, mains, and deserts coming and going from multiple team members - they were all swooping in and out like an oiled machine - there to help one and other to make the process seamless for themselves & for the customers.
The food was, honestly, better than the previous two times I had visited (I'm pretty sure I said the food was awesome during both of those visits, too). I had Steak & Lobster (still looking back at my picture(s) of the plate, LOL), and other steak plates + burger plates were ordered amongst my party. The flavours on EACH PLATE were pristine, nothing was left lightly seasoned or 'out to dry'. Everything was cooked to perfection right down to the french fries & broccolini. We moved on to desert - multiple chocolate lava cakes and italian donuts. There really weren't many crumbs left, I'll leave it at that!
As for the atmosphere, it filled it by 6 - 6:15pm, and it didn't feel overcrowded or even too loud whatsoever. Lots of mature tables, then family tables, too, and every patron table appeared to be well-mannered, and no obnoxious issues arose. The ambience in the various dining areas can absolutely fit anybody's need.
Fun noticeable part: part of the kitchen is exposed, so if you're sitting in a nearby section of the establishment, you can watch the strong kitchen team at work!!
Finishing the night, the team who, presumptively, engaged with my table, even once, put together a Birthday card for me, which ties the entire night together.
I sincerely appreciate...
Read moreMy wife and I recently celebrated our anniversary at Joey Crowfoot in Calgary, and I can honestly say that it was the best restaurant experience we've ever had—hands down. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were welcomed with warmth, professionalism, and a level of hospitality that’s increasingly rare these days. Every detail of our evening was taken care of, and thanks to Payton (our server) and Hannah (the manager), it became an experience we will talk about for years to come.
Let’s start with Payton, who was an absolute gem from start to finish. She was friendly, genuine, and attentive without ever being overbearing. Her timing was impeccable—checking in at just the right moments—and she made sure every aspect of our meal was perfect. Payton has that rare ability to make you feel like you're the most important table in the room. She not only provided top-notch service, but also brought an energy and charisma that elevated our evening to something truly special. She made amazing recommendations and really went above and beyond in every way.
And then there’s Hannah, the manager, who made us feel like VIPs. Upon learning that we were celebrating our anniversary, she surprised us with a beautiful bottle of Brut—chilled and served with such a thoughtful touch. As if that wasn't enough, she also arranged for a gorgeous dessert! It wasn’t just about the complimentary items (though they were amazing)—it was the kindness, thoughtfulness, and care that went into making our night feel so uniquely celebrated.
The food, of course, was fantastic—every dish was flavorful, well-executed, and beautifully presented. The ambiance was stylish yet comfortable, perfect for a romantic night out, and the entire team at Joey Crowfoot seemed genuinely happy to be there, which says a lot about the culture and leadership of the restaurant.
I’ve dined at many upscale restaurants across the country and even internationally, but there’s something to be said for the genuine hospitality and personalized care we experienced at Joey Crowfoot. It was more than just dinner—it was an experience, and one we’ll never forget.
To Payton – thank you for making us feel so welcome, so taken care of, and so celebrated. You’re a superstar and a true professional.
To Hannah – thank you for your incredible generosity, attention to detail, and for going out of your way to make our anniversary feel magical.
If you’re in Calgary and looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion—or just enjoy a flawless night out—Joey Crowfoot is the place. We left with full hearts, full stomachs, and...
