We visited the establishment due to the presence of at least four Vietnamese restaurants in close proximity to our Airbnb. The decor is elegantly designed with clean lines and a sophisticated ambiance. Although the waitress did not speak Vietnamese, we were able to place our orders effectively by referencing the menu’s numbering system. The sandwiches offered do not align with traditional Vietnamese sub-style sandwiches, as they lack pâté, which diminishes their authenticity. The pho lacked a robust depth of flavor, and the surcharge of nine dollars for two small pieces of oxtail appeared to be excessive. Additionally, the Nuoc Cham accompanying the rice and vermicelli dishes was too salty, necessitating personal adjustments to the seasoning. Overall, while the atmosphere is pleasant, the culinary offerings fall short in delivering the authenticity and characteristic flavors of southern Vietnam.

Overall so disappointment. Other Mahogany Vietnamese location do not serve sub so which is great. Sub is okay not special( take out)beef sate noodle is okay( no peanuts …I like peanuts one). Customer service … lunch time was okay BUT dinner time..not a nice. Funny things same waitress Lunch and dinner. Also their sign ( Sunday ) close 7PM. We were at 6:10Pm. We could still order and eat-in. But they refused couple of Customer around 6:30PM. Not dine-in. But sign is 7PM!I understand if they say “ 6:30 last call “ we should leave by 7PM. They should change sign. Im not comfortable dine-in. Even they use cute ceramic spoon, lol So better go back old mahogany Vietnamese.

Food and customer service in the restaurant was great! I ordered on their online ordering system. Showed up at that time it said to but the order was not yet ready. Had to wait 10 minutes in the restaurant but that’s ok, I understand new restaurants just getting into their process. Other than that I would recommend this place! Especially the subs! The sauce they use in the subs is so good and authentic tasting of all viet subs I’ve tried in the deep S.E. Check it out! Happy to see more variety restaurants and eateries in the deep SE!

Pho Chu The, hands down, is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Calgary. With each visit, they consistently deliver a dining experience that exceeds expectations. The moment you step through their doors, you're greeted with the enticing aromas of freshly cooked dishes and the warm smiles of their friendly staff.

One of the standout qualities of Pho Chu The is their commitment to serving fresh and hot food. Every dish that arrives at your table is a testament to their dedication to quality. From their signature pho to their delectable spring rolls, each bite is bursting with vibrant flavors and made with the finest ingredients.

The restaurant itself reflects their commitment to excellence. Pho Chu The boasts a charming and inviting ambiance. The interior is tastefully decorated, creating a cozy and pleasant environment to enjoy your meal. Moreover, the cleanliness of the restaurant is outstanding, giving you peace of mind as you dine.

I have been a regular patron of Pho Chu The and they have never once disappointed me. The food tasted fairly good. However we found a black “screw” in our Vietnamese Egg Pancake dish. We notified our server, he took our dish back quickly and apologized. We didn’t get a chance to take a picture. He came back later to question us at was portion of that dish we found the “screw”. I was dumbfounded by the question!!!!! He explained the kitchen / manager want to know so they can investigate where it may have come from!!!! At this point when a plate of food was prepared, cooked and served. The dish has gone through many stages in the kitchen. They want to ask the customer at what portion of our dish we found the “screw”???? Luckily we spotted the screw. Had it been mixed in with the eggs, it could have caused some serious damage to the inside of the mouth.

Our server later came back with the possibility the screw fell from used/second hand kitchen equipments and it may even have fallen somewhere from inside a fridge. At this point, it didn’t matter anymore. It’s unacceptable and horrified :(:(:(:(

During the whole time while we were still in the restaurant being questioned, the “Manager” didn’t even take time to speak with us. Leaving his staff to deal with the issue.

Unprofessional customer service. We left with disbelief and concern of food safety from this...

Food is alright, the pho, and com dishes don’t compare to Pho Hoan Pasteur (in the other Mahogany plaza), but they have a couple of special dishes like omelettes and squid, which is the only reason why we visit. Food is a solid 7/10. Service is horrendous, the older filipina server is incredibly rude, wouldn’t bother to look at me and my small family when we wanted to pay, gave attitude, but was very friendly to the bigger family beside us who ordered more. Disappointed by that server more than once yet we didn’t do anything to her? I came in with a smile, and she gave us a blank look and didn’t serve us until we asked if we could order. It’s busy and we understand, but she was nicer and served the other family faster. She clearly doesn’t care for the business, since she’s only a minimum wage worker, but at least act like you care enough to keep your job? Especially in this economy? If she was even an ounce friendlier we would’ve left a nice tip. I work in the service industry so I understand, but she chose to be rude each visit. Service is a 1/10. Atmosphere is cute, quite small, 10 tables, but decorated nicely....
