I was really excited to try this new cafe as I saw lots of posts on Instagram and it looked amazing! Unfortunately, I fell into the hype trap and had such a disappointing experience here. It was honestly a hot mess as soon as I walked in. I donât think they were prepared to open at all. My friend and I walked in and the space was a lot smaller compared to how the videos made it look, which is fine because cozy atmospheres are great! However, thereâs just no flow or space to walk up and order as tables are set up right in front of the counter making it so crowded.
Anyway, I decide to order the iced Adeni which was on their paper menu at the counter and my friend ordered the iced Qamaria coffee. The young teen taking the order couldnât find what I ordered on his side and was just very confused and flustered. When my friend ordered her drink, another gentlemen asked if she wanted honey when the drink description already says it has honey in it. When we got the drinks, the iced Qamaria came first and it did not look appealing. The honey wasnât mixed in so it was settled at the bottom. It was 3/4 full and it didnât come with any ice! When my friend went up to the counter, the staff apologized and said they forgot to put the ice in.. so the staff put the ice in and tried to put the lid on, didnât go on, but handed the drink with the loose lid back anyway. So odd. My drink did not taste good at all and the ground cardamom wasnât filtered out so taking a sip all these grains come through the straw and caused for such an awful mouthfeel and texture. We honestly could not finish our drinks and opted to take the loss on +$7.00 and +$5.00 we spent and went to get much better quality drinks elsewhere for a fraction of the price.
I know they just opened, the staff wasnât experienced enough, didnât have a welcoming atmosphere, the drinks were not as good as expected, crowded, etc. Lots to improve as Iâm sure they have great potential. If theyâre entering as a premium coffee shop, they should make sure these points...

Read moreThe girl who served me was so lovely and I read reviews of the pistachio latte so I had one of those - iced. I didnât look closely at the pictures of the menu in reviews but noticed later there are no prices anywhere. Which I find really odd, even if it was started in the US I would have thought prices is normal. This is the first cafe in my entire life with no pricing.
Going there that day - Thinking it couldnât be more than the locally owned roasters who roast their own coffee that I go to like Phil and Sebs or Monogram that single origin/ geishas etc are $6 max $9 ish âŠI ordered and was honestly astounded a bit to pay $13⊠$12 something and a tip. That was beyond one of the most luxurious hotels I stayed at in Dubai. lol
I know things are expensive. But I donât think we are there YET. I had thought.
That was extremely unexpected. And clearly why they donât post prices might scare people a bit. I mean if money is no object of concern then fine and maybe thatâs the point. Iâm not dying by any means but just found it a bit much in the Canadian Coffee market from here to BC even.
Overall I did enjoy going there because it reminds me of how much I loved my time in Dubai even though I know that is different than Yemen lol Still I loved it.
I wanted to go back for a tea maybe will soon, but always make sure you go with a âit could be $5 or $15 for a cup - no one knowsâ if youâre good with that. Then go!
It is lovely tasting coffee/nice for a change of shops. Or for a place that is open late...
