Went here this past Saturday evening for dinner. Not busy at all, but beautiful decor and super friendly servers. The two girls on did a bang up job. The food however...not good. We started with the mushroom appetizer and steak bites. Steak bites were ok at best, but the mushrooms were not. The sauce was very sweet and it made for a not very desirable dish. Within our orders, one person ordered the salmon dish. The salmon was cooked beyond well done... dry! We also had the smokehouse sandwich. This thing should be removed from the menu. What a joke of a sandwich. It says it comes with grilled garlic prawns and roasted red pepper on the sandwich. What is ACTUALLY on the sandwich was 3 halves of pieces of shrimp. These were not prawns and the fact that they were cut in half is a scam. Like, you couldnt give 3 whole shrimp!? The roasted red pepper was also a whole piece... fresh from the can. Worst part of all, the pork wasn't even hot, there were parts where it was cold which leads me to believe it was warmed in a microwave. At least warm it in a pan and warm the meat throughout! You can get someone sick by not heating your food properly! It was probably the worst sandwich I've eaten in the last 5 years. Would not recommend. Again, the servers were great and the decor was nice, but this place needs help...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the start. We were a group of 11 celebrating a friend’s birthday, and from the moment we walked in, our waitress didn’t smile once or make us feel welcome. We had to ask for menus, ask for water, and overall, the service just felt inattentive. I understand that restaurants can get busy, and maybe they were short-staffed, but even a small effort to be friendly would have made a difference.
The food took a long time to arrive, and when it did, it was honestly mediocre at best. I ordered a beet salad with steak, which ended up costing me $40 (tip included), and it was cold, had burnt parts, wasn’t tender, and was unevenly cooked—definitely not worth the price.
What really left a bad impression was when the waitress came to collect payment and inform us about the gratuity tip. We were more than happy to pay (that was never an issue), but the way she addressed us was rude and unprofessional. If a restaurant expects an automatic tip for large groups, the least they can do is offer decent service. A simple smile or even the bare minimum effort in making guests feel valued would have gone a long way.
Sadly, I wouldn’t return or recommend this place, especially given the quality of food...
Read moreCame here for drinks after dinner at the neighbouring restaurant in New Camp’s first/second week they opened. Was exactly the type of place we’d return to several times and are so glad something like this exists outside of the inner city.
Ambiance: The decor is fresh and updated but not too pretentious. Centred around a bar, but plenty of booths or tables if you want to sit down. Loved the bar stools - they overheard me say that and mentioned they ordered them from Europe.
Management and bar tender was super friendly and knowledgeable of the drink menu and enthusiastic about their concept. We let them know the menu was huge and all over the place and they expressed they were just starting big then will refine and edit once they get feedback.
Drinks: cocktails were so good. I tried their Japanese inspired mule and a bartenders recommended cocktail and my fiancé had couple custom-made, freshly-smoked old fashioneds. They had the huge singular cubes.
Overall: will be coming here again once they nail down the menu. Levilla beside them should be worried about...
