Food was wonderful. Service was exceptional and I really enjoyed my time here.
To start, we had the parmesan fries, and the baked brie. Both of which, were delicious. Especially the baked brie, which paired with their amazing baguette, made for a spectacular appetizer.
To compliment this, we had the baked pretzel bread, with soften whipped butter. The bread was hot, straight from the oven. It made for a perfect appetizer.
Onto our mains, me and my lovely wife had the New York Strip and the rack of lamb, both of which were cooked to perfection. The lamb had no gamey taste, and was perfectly seasoned. Honestly the best lamb I have ever had.
Our friends had the prosciutto-wrapped stuffed chicken, and it was phenomenal. I had a sample, and have never tasted chicken breast this tender in my life.
The seafood bucatini was spectacular as well, and was honestly really filling. The creamy sauce paired with the noodles made for a really comforting dish.
This was all really filling, and when we ordered our desserts we were in for a treat (literally). We got the Chocolate Molten lava cake, and the dragon fruit creme brulee, both of which exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed both desserts, but the stand out has to be the chocolate molten lava cake, with it being freshly baked and paired with a side of ice cream, the two flavors really completed each other.
To highlight the service, all staff were extremely attentive and welcoming. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant and when we left we felt like we were being taken care of really well. The water glasses were always topped up and the staff were quick to answer any questions and concerns we had. Truly phenomenal service and one that restaurants in Calgary should...
Read moreWe stopped in here recently and honestly, the food was really good! Our server also mentioned we’d get 10% off our entrees, which was a nice surprise.
That said, the experience around paying was a bit weird. When we went to settle up, the pay machine malfunctioned. I got a bit anxious thinking I may have hit my card limit after spending a lot on this trip (lol). The wait staff apologised and said if we paid by cash they would give us a discount for the inconvenience. We couldnt go for it since we were saving our cash for the Calgary Stampede. They seemed a bit annoyed and we then tried the machine once more and it worked. Thank God.
We laughed and said we were off to buy more grub with our cash at the Calgary Stampede but then the server told us about a great offer on takeaway desserts, 50% off, but only for cash orders. It sounded good, so I asked for a crrme brulee, but then they said that one wasn’t available for takeout. I was left feeling a bit sad because i thought my companions at the hotel would like to try something but no matter.
After speaking with a few other people who work in restaurants around the city, Ivve been encouraged to mention this. I guess it is kind of a red flag but I’m not trying to get anyone fired, maybe i even misheard them. I am just so confused about this. and I totally understand that times must be hard and not everyone always knows all the protocols. But it left me uneasy, and I figured I’d speak up in case it’s something management would want to look into.
I've been losing sleep over what the right thing to do is. Our visit was Tue 7 (I think) thought I don't have my receipt. I hope this...
Read moreA place where price and quality arent equals. My partner and I visited this restaurant as part of our ongoing love for exploring local dining spots. We tend to order widely across the menu to truly experience what a place has to offer. On this visit, we started with the lobster bisque, which was rich and flavorful, and the shrimp cocktail, which had a unique and enjoyable twist.
For mains, I had the braised meat gnocchi — a hearty, well-composed dish I would gladly recommend. My partner ordered the Wagyu, requested medium-rare, but it arrived well-done — a regrettable misstep, especially given the quality of the meat. Any steak enthusiast knows how disappointing it is to see a premium cut overcooked.
To make matters worse, our server was absent during this part of the meal. The untouched steak was left on the plate as a silent cue, in hopes it might prompt a timely check-in. Unfortunately, by the time our server returned, my partner had eaten the steak out of necessity — it was already a late dinner, and hunger won out.
We did express our concerns to the server, who assured us the issue would be relayed to the manager. However, we were disappointed to receive no follow-up or acknowledgment, and were still charged full price for the overcooked steak. For a restaurant of this caliber, that lack of accountability was disheartening.
While much of the meal was enjoyable, the mishandling of the Wagyu and the absence of managerial engagement detracted significantly from the experience. For those seeking attentive service and precision in execution — especially when ordering high-end items — this is something to...
