On Monday evening at 5 PM, I visited Hana Sushi with my husband for the All You Can Eat (AYCE) sushi option. Unfortunately, the ordering process was quite inconvenient. We had to write our orders by hand on a piece of paper, and since there were very few pictures on the menu, it was hard to know exactly what we were ordering. Because of this, it was also difficult to keep track of what was served and what wasn’t (some items we ordered never arrived). At other AYCE sushi restaurants, customers can scan a QR code and view pictures of the menu on their phones, but unfortunately, this option wasn’t available at Hana Sushi, which I found disappointing.
The restaurant was very crowded, and one staff member dropped a dish on the floor. However, they did not apologize and continued working in a visibly irritated manner. Later, I requested a drink, but it didn’t arrive even after more than 10 minutes, so I had to approach the kitchen myself to request it again. When the drink was finally brought to our table, the staff’s attitude was unprofessional and snappy.
Overall, the food wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great either. The sashimi was served on ice, keeping it fresh and cool, which I appreciated. Compared to other AYCE restaurants, the sashimi at Hana Sushi was of good quality, fresh, and offered in a wide variety, which I enjoyed. The portion sizes of side dishes were generous, allowing us to enjoy the meal at a comfortable pace.
However, many dishes that should have been served warm were cold or lukewarm, and some cold dishes were served at room temperature, which was disappointing. The waiting time for food was also excessive. After placing our third order, it took about 2 hours for the food to be served, with each dish taking 20 to 30 minutes to arrive after ordering (and I usually eat faster than most people). Additionally, some of the sushi was not as fresh as the sashimi and tasted mediocre at best.
Despite the restaurant being busy, I believe the staff should still provide friendly and respectful service. I came to Hana Sushi based on positive reviews on various social media platforms but left disappointed. While food quality can be subjective, the unfriendly and inconvenient service must be addressed. Being busy is no excuse for poor service—if the restaurant is frequently crowded, more servers and kitchen staff should be hired to improve service quality and reduce wait times for customers.
Finally, it’s important to note that this restaurant receives positive reviews primarily because they offer a free can of pop to customers who...

I've eaten at buffet restaurants all over the world, and this is the first time I've been so disappointed in one! First of all, the food was mediocre, nowhere near as delicious as the reviews claimed. Many hot dishes arrived cold, and the sashimi wasn’t as fresh as at Sushi Kitchen. Then I realized why there were so many good reviews—because they were running a promotion where you get a free drink for a 5-star review and a chance to win $100 for the top three reviews of the month. So, it's clear how inflated these reviews are.
Secondly, the servers were expressionless, slow, and took forever to refill water. We had heard that their service was slow, so we ordered a lot at once, based on our experience with other buffets. However, we later realized their portion sizes were much larger than other places, and without any reference pictures, we accidentally ordered too much. Despite our efforts, we couldn't finish all of it, leaving behind mostly staples like rice. The leftovers amounted to about two small bowls' worth, but we were never informed in advance that leaving food would incur a fine. It wasn’t until we were nearly done that a server told us about the fine. However, there were no clear signs posted, no specified amount or calculation method. It all depended on the manager eyeballing the leftovers and making an estimate? Isn't this illegal everywhere? Businesses can't just fine consumers unless they've clearly informed them beforehand. If we had known about this, we could have avoided it, so I understand if there’s a fine in such a case.
Also, as first-time customers, we didn’t know the portion sizes. Since we only left a tiny bit, couldn’t this have been a warning instead of a fine? You’re not a law enforcement agency; as a restaurant, can’t you show some warmth and leniency to your customers? The manager, who had the authority to decide the fine, glanced at our table and walked away without any explanation, leaving the poor server to hand us the payment machine. The worst part is, my clueless husband still tipped them! With such poor food and service, and an illegal fine, there’s no way we’ll ever return! I hate that I was too shocked at the time to even...

As for the food, it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t particularly great either. The sashimi was served on ice, keeping it fresh and cool, which I appreciated. The tempura dishes were flavorful due to the seasoning. However, the beef and pork dishes were quite ordinary or mismatched with their menu descriptions, which left me confused about what I had ordered. The sushi rolls were decent because of the seasoning, but the salmon and eel sushi lacked freshness and were somewhat disappointing.
Even though the restaurant was busy, I believe the staff should still provide friendly and courteous service. While this place might be worth visiting once out of curiosity, I wouldn’t recommend it to others based on the reviews alone, as the service was unfriendly and the food quality was mediocre. I do not plan to return.
It’s also worth noting that this restaurant seems to receive positive reviews because they offer a free drink to customers who...
