Honestly; used to love this place. As a vegetarian I loved being able to go in for a black bean burger.

Until yesterday on June 1st 2015.

I went in at around 9:36PM on a Monday when the store was closing at 10PM.

I went to the counter and ordered at Black Bean Burger as usual.

I have not eaten at Smash in about 3 months as I like to follow a pretty healthy home cooked diet.

As my order was put in I could see two high school aged boys working in the back, as well as two employees out front cleaning up.

I immediately noticed the one boy who was using his bare hands to sweep and then begin mopping the floor began to make my food without washing his hands or putting any gloves on.

In utter disbelief I asked the Philippino at the front counter if they used gloves while making the food in the back? Yes he replied; yes of course.

He then went to the back and told the boy of my concern discretely at which time again with out washing his hands he just threw on a pair of gloves to finishing making my burger.

Thinking maybe he would make a new burger from scratch considering he was touching brooms and mops and then began making the first burger with his bare hands. I watched to see what he would do next.

After putting on the gloves he goes to flip the patty; at this point again to my utter disbelief he grabs the mop with his gloves on and begins mopping the floor AGAIN!

Feeling as if though the kid may as well have spit in my burger I decided to get my refund and leave the establishment for the last time as I will NOT be returning to a BURGER joint of any kind ever again!

Unless they make it right in front of you I will never support such establishments again. And for your health and safety...

Im depressed.. this used to be our favorite spot for a good burger. First - they no longer have malt for milkshakes (yes that was awhile ago but i never wrote my displeasure!) - then we went for lunch today and ordered.. went to find a booth (we were only people there at noon!) And every single booth seat was dirty except one - and that one had a dirty table! When i asked for a rag to wipe it the young man was kind enough to go and clean it and explained it was busy last night. Like this is a good reason why they r not ready for lunchtime next day? Our response someone should be fired. Our burger then arrived to which i was perplexed that the patty was so small and thin compared to yrs before. The young man again advised they reduced patty to fit on bun better lol. It is now a 4 oz burger. I can get a 4oz burger for half that price elsewhere. Smashburger u no longer stand out in the crowd of burgerdom.. although u do stand out for a dirty dining area.. even the floors needed help from night before. You got one star for that nice young man and one star that the smash fries are still good even though the size were also reduced on these. Our quest for amazing burger...

Slopburger.... It seems like a growing trend for boutique burger restaurants to have terrible food. I dined in and had a double burger and the result was very unpleasant. As I attempted this burger the second it hit the table my review is not the result of a long drive home:

Is it normal for the burger to be so greasy that the bun would be able to be wrung out like a sponge if it wasn't already deteriorating from the second it arrived at the table? Is it normal for the flavorless patty to be so wet I was considering looking for a spoon? When they smashed this burger did they do it in the kitchen sink? Have the people making the burger never seen a proper burger been made? Do they have no standards for quality at this location?

I tried drinking half of the burger and soaked up the rest with the one napkin they give you before committing it to the garbage. I hope they didn't have holes in the garbage bag because it will leak out when they go to pull it otherwise.

15 dollars not well spent for a burger. Go to Mcdonalds and get twice the consistent quality for one third the price. Won't be coming back.

Edit: Ended up puking all night. Wasn't any better...
