We came here for a late lunch a while back since we'd never been here and was curious to try them out. The menu had many options, though some were at a higher price points than other restaurants.
The sushi rolls leaned just more on the less rice to more filling ratio, which was great as it created a better mouthfeel and more balanced texture and flavour. As for the tiny offering of ginger and wasabi on the same plate as the mango roll and sashimi, it would have been much better to offer these on a separate plate. Unless all of your sushi came at the same time, you're left without these to pair with your meal.
He ordered extra meats and noodles for the tonkotsu classic, creating a giant bowl of filling ramen. He noted that the flavour was pretty good and liked the greens that came with it.
Overall, we had a decent experience but the price points and quality compared to other Japanese restaurants doesn't entice us to make a quick return...
Read moreFair warning, if you come to eat in be prepared to wait a long time for food. They looked very busy with Doordash orders and the like, but it was crazy how we were basically ignored for over half an hour after placing our order, which was when our appetizers finally came out (alongside another table beside us who arrived later than us, suggesting they just prioritized app orders and then quickly pushed all of ours out).
The ramen was unfortunately mediocre. I got the black garlic tonkotsu, which was rich but lacked actual taste/seasoning.
I ordered a few pieces of sushi, and I'm glad I did. They were absolutely delicious and fresh. The few pieces I got saved this entire meal. The karaage was also very fresh and tasty.
My suggestion is to just order sushi if you come. And also be ready for a long wait, this is definitely not the place for a quick bite, but if you order the sushi you'll probably...
Read moreCame here because of all the great reviews and afterward I'm agreeing with all the negative reviews. First of all it isn't feel like authentic Japanese food, everything is close, looks similar but taste wise not quite there. I tried the traditional ramen since that is the only way to taste the base booth and it was very mild, favourless and no depth. The soft boiled egg felt like it was sitting out for a while and now overcooked. Noodles portions are a bit small and taste like the prepacked stuff you find at T&T, so while not terrible but definitely not great. The only positive for me was the pork, but there wasn't an option for how fat so it was quite fat and some people may have an issue with it. Sushi as mentioned before was all you can eat places quality and the rice keeps falling apart. So all it all, wouldn't come back unless I have to and if you crave ramen...
