OVERRATED, UNSANITARY, MAJOR DISSATISFACTION & DISAPPOINTMENT. Brace yourselves this is going to be long and thorough. Upon arrival (Tuesday morning approximately 9:30 am) the restaurant was busy. No seating available. This location is small in size so it’s no surprise. We did not have a reservation so waited approximately 15-20 minutes at the door. (No issue here) We were originally told 15-20 minutes for a booth or table. Rather we were than offered to sit up at the “bar area”. My partner and I didn’t mind so we agreed. First point, the bar stool/chair yellow back was broken so my partner had to sit awkwardly with no ability to get another chair as all others were taken. The server greeted us right away and asked for our drinks. We ordered coffee & baileys and a cappuccino. I will state both drinks came rather quickly and were excellent quality coffee. (Fratello brand). This restaurant is open concept kitchen. Working in the food and service industry since the age of 13 you become customized to what and how the kitchen, pass bar, expo line, etc works. Astonishing to have patrons sit up at the bar and view your cooks, cooking away when the kitchen area is so disorderly and unsanitary. The small hand washing sink used by the barista to empty coffees was so brown it really could use some SOS scrubbing and some elbow grease. The hood fans on all the ledges had an inch of thick dust and oil caked on over top your cooks. The same batter left out being used with the egg wash for all your breaded items (predominantly the chicken and waffles) is unsanitary. The racks of cubed hash laying on baking trays/sheets, uncovered exposed to dust, and the natural airborne bacteria 🦠 is disgusting. Further down your line we have a prep cook who is unrolling bacon on to trays we watched him do this 4 different times. Not once did he wash his hands, nor was he wearing gloves, rather slicked his hair back and tucked it behind his ears and then wiped his hands on his pant legs to do it all over again to roll out another set of bacon. Not one of your kitchen team are wearing a hair net under their hats. Especially the female cook making your eggs and working the stove. Just flabbergasted. One would think if you are having patrons sit at a bar, eye level watching your cooks the kitchen area, bar top would be in mint pristine condition. All of this was noted of course after we placed our order and were able to actually see what was unfolding rather than staring at a menu. My partner was sweating profusely as sitting atop the bar you are getting a ton of heat from the stove and cooking areas. We noted the place had cleared out and he requested to move. Visibly uncomfortable, and having sweat droplets 💧 coming off his nose and forehead should have been a good indication we are uncomfortable. We were advised no, as this was reserved for other guests. These “supposed” other guests never were sat at this shared table for the entirety of our meal and easily we could have been placed there. Once our food arrived, the presentation looked good. I noted right away that the chicken & waffles that we ordered; the breaded chicken was super dark. I thought 💭 the oil needed to be changed. I was correct, tasted horrendous. The waffle itself. Stale, cold, dry and hard. These are all pre-made and sit out uncovered much like the hash browns until used for the specific order. No maple syrup came with it either and the white gravy- what is that? Gross. I didn’t eat it. Just awful. My partner ordered the fili bowl with a side of sourdough bread. He said his meal was good, overpriced, and his favourite part was the sourdough bread. So what does that say? All items on the menu are 18-25$ in price range with coffee/teas averaging $4-9. We ate so fast, what we could. Didn’t speak a word as we were so uncomfortable and grossed out. Paid and left. This business needs a thorough deep cleaning. Pulling of your grills and serious washing from ceiling to floor. Will never return. Hit up Reds or OEB, for the price, cleanliness & exp…

This is a trendy, busy little breakfast spot in northwest Calgary, with a very inventive menu. There is a mix of shared tables, booths and individual tables. It can also get quite noisy since it is a very busy spot - so keep in mind if you're hoping to have a quiet conversation. We went for brunch around 11 a.m. and got in about 10 minutes later. I wanted a decaf coffee, however they only have decaf espresso, so I opted for a decaf latte with almond milk. It was excellent - very flavourful and a nice amount of foam, but SO small for the price! My friend ordered a lavender latte, and it was also very flavourful (but small). We opted for the egg white veggie frittata, which came with a piece of toast and duck fat fried hashbrowns (it seems they use duck fat in most of their dishes) and eggs benny, which also came with hashbrowns. The frittata was served in a very cute cast iron skillet, and had lots of veggies and feta. It was nice and hot, and cooked perfectly. The hashbrowns were flavorful, but I found them a bit hard. The eggs benny had a delicious piece of bacon, perfectly cooked egg and very good hollandaise sauce. The portions were a decent size - but fairly pricy (I assume it is partially due to the quality/sourcing of the ingredients). Overall, this is a good spot to try for a change of pace from the usual breakfast/brunch.. lots of dishes that you don't typically see at other breakfast joints.

Very busy breakfast joint - be prepared to wait for your table - At least 15 minutes. We sat down fairly quickly, our seating was near the food expeditor preparation. It was very neat to see food coming out from the kitchen. Service was very good with nice staff here. They top my coffee at least six times, but the food could be better.... we had the chicken waffle and a farmer breakfast. I found the waffle was a bit soggy, in my opinion, so much hype about it but at the end it just another disappointing waffle. The chicken itself was seasoned well and moist. Our Sunny Side egg from the farmer breakfast was overcooked as you can see in the photo. The kitchen was very busy so I can't fault too much on the line cook/owner but if I'm paying for a meal I expect delicious perfection. The hash what's the best part of the meal very delicious - you can taste the duck fat. The bacon is also delicious house-made but could be cooked more crispy. 1 Would I come back... I would say yes to give this place a try again just because The service was top-notch and wonderful staff. Definitely way better then franchise breakfast joint.

My friend and I went here today. From the start when they send you a text that your table is ready, but then stand there for another 15-20 minutes afterwards, somethings wrong. When we went to Benny's they seat you almost immediately. As for the food, I was hoping for better. Wanted to try chicken and waffles at a restaurant, so I ordered it here. Mistake. First the coffee (Fratello). They should highly consider getting their coffee somewhere else. Maybe Tim's just next to them :). It had a weird front taste and a bitter finish. The chicken was flavourless, however moist. The crust was crunchy, points, but had no flavour other than salt and the sauce that came with it was vinegar forward. The white sauce also had no flavour. I could do better. The waffle was alright for what it was, but if I was expected to add that white sauce to it, yeah no. I always have a picture in my head from Southern food shows and think that looks yummy. Bro'kin Yolk, you have a long way to go. Now, if it was tasty, the amount they give you is really questionable, but thankfully, it was a pass. I asked for some maple syrup instead which was very mild and I received a small quantity. As to my friends Benny, she stated that the potatoes where dry, and she thought that the waffle under the egg shouldn't have been so sweet for a Benny. The service was alright, but nearing the end we had 4 different people within a minute come to me asking if I was done, when I clearly wasn't. Somewhat annoying. Whoever the head chef is here, needs to fix a lot of food issues and shouldn't be texting you until you know you can seat them. We also noticed a lot of Jasmine rice in dishes. I don't think this place actually has a head chef with something to say. It isn't Asian fusion by any means, just things haphazardly put together because restaurant. Maybe the other locations are better, doubtful. I would rather go back to Benny's or try some...

we had a really bad experience. I came with my friend to celebrate her birthday and the server lady was so rude with us, she came to us and asked what we gonna drink I say coffee she was rushing us, I was like well she is busy understandable but she didn’t take care of us, I was asking for more coffee, and then we didn’t have more cream, so I have to ask for this stuff, it was ok, but when we finish our meal she just drop the bill on the table, rushing us, and one minute after she brought the machine and say you gonna pay with the machine, and I was like yes but I was upset she was rushing and my friend say I’m gonna go an tell the manager, at this time I was on my phone and she came super upset and told the manager also was so rude with her. I was trying to explain her what happened, and tha server lady came and she was standing behind me and saying no I didn’t behave that way, no that’s no true, my friend was so upset and say I’m talking with the manager, and the server again interrupted and said to my friend you have to live, my friend told the manager do you listen how she is talking to me and the manager said well you tell her to shut up, my friend never say that word, she was like what! it was very horrible situation, we just went to celebrate my friend now I feel so embarrassed with my friend to make her feeling uncomfortable and pass for this unbelievable situation. I hope the owner read this, since the manager was so disrespectful and didn’t listen to the...
