We got: 10 piece wings (spicy gang-jeong) 5 piece drumsticks (soy garlic) 5 piece boneless chicken thigs (sweet) Small bulgogi fries 1 Pop The total was about $70. Also this location is all halal just an FYI!
The texture on all were great, especially the drumsticks, and flavor-wise it was well blended with the sauce and it was a worthwhile experience!
Soy garlic was a little salty even for me (I eat salty in general) but was very flavorful. Drumsticks were crunchy on the outside, and tender & juicy inside, would highly suggest you try this!
Spicy gang-jeong wasn't anything special honestly, slightly spicy, and decent flavour. Wings were well marinated but I guess with all the sauce, it didn't have that texture I like with wings, not soggy tho so still alright.
Sweet sauce one was basically marinated with the sweet chilli sauce, if you like that sauce, which I do, then you will enjoy it. Texture-wise, boneless thigs were obviously very enjoyable, not crunchy inside all that sauce ofc but not soggy either, it was pretty good!
Bulgogi fries were done great, super crunchy, and even tho we got small one to try, they were super generous with the portions.
It was 3 of us and we were full and even had some leftovers. All the sauce gets heavy in the end, but it was still quite enjoyable. It's definitely pricey compared to your usual fried chicken places like popeyes (similar portions would cost about $30-40ish with biscuits and more fries etc), but I would highly suggest you give it a try at least once!
Only docking a star as the service was meh, but otherwise, food-wise it gets...
Read moreI have been a loyal customer of Wow Chicken for over 5 years and have always enjoyed the brand. However, my experience at this particular location was extremely disappointing. The customer service was poor, with the staff being rude and unapologetic for their mistakes. As someone who works in the hospitality field, I find this level of service unacceptable. I strongly recommend that the management need to retraining this staff member. For a better experience, I suggest visiting other Wow Chicken locations.
We ordered soy garlic chicken, but they brought us Gang Jeong chicken. When we pointed out the mistake, the girl explained that the store didn’t have the Gang Jeong sauce and took the dish back to the kitchen. We are 100% sure we received Gang Jeong chicken because none of us can eat spicy food (Gang Jeong is a spicy sauce, and it was too spicy for us). We only ordered 10 original chicken wings, 10 soy garlic chicken wings, 1 large fries, and 4 drinks. Therefore, we politely requested a replacement. From the moment we received the correct order until we left, there was no apology from the staff. Please find the picture below showing the Gang Jeong wing, which I was holding, and behind it, the soy garlic chicken (this picture was taken after we received the correct order).
P.S.: I have read the responses from the Wow Chicken Team to my friend's comments, and their replies were unprofessional. While I will continue to support other Wow Chicken branches, my friends and I will never be returning to the Wow Chicken at the Macleod Trail location. Thank you for reading...
Read moreBeen coming to Wow Chicken for years. Today I purchased the same chi bop I always get and they gave what looks like scraps for fries. Confused, I go back and ask if I could get more fries as this looks very sad. The employees said they changed the amount they put into the meal and still charge the same amount. I said to them this looks like you just threw scraps into the box. The guy at the front just nodded and said “yeah it does” agreeing that it looks like scraps and still offered no solution other than to pay extra for a decent amount of fries that should’ve been there to begin with. Employee’s response was “it is what it is”. Really disappointing and employees lack customer service skills. Definitely avoid this place and go to their other locations.
Update: After reading the owner’s response, I do want to add I was told by the employees that management informed them as of 2 months ago they now have to put HALF of the portions they used to put. Definitely not an honest response from the owner. I have been to other Wow Chicken locations for years and have had great experiences but can’t say the same for this place. I did not say I was coming to this specific location for years. Not sure why the owner had to clarify they’ve only been open for 1 year, this doesn’t change the fact this happened. Please fully read the review before posting a response. Hope everyone can see this establishment’s lack of accountability and take their business...
