Double Double Pizza & Chicken — Restaurant in Cambridge

Terrible Food & even worse service.!!! We have been big fans of Double Double "s Chicken Wings for over 20 Yrs. Consider them to be underrated & love their hot sauce. We normally get them from the Kitchener location but a few times we ordered from this location , the quality was decent though the service was never the greatest. Ordered 50 Wings & Garlic bread tonight. The Garlic Bread was totally burned. The wings for the kids were also burned The Suicide Ones for us were not burned but they were so hard that it required a lot of force to get it separated from the bone & then it was like rubber. I had 4, My wife had 2 & my son had 2 & my daughter had a bit of the Garlic Bread slice. but then we could not have anymore as they tasted super nasty.so stopped. I did call them and a lady picked up the phone, listened to my complaint & put on on hold for a few minutes then came back & told me that she checked with the person who made them & the person said that the food was all fine but If we have the whole order with nothing consumed then we can bring it back & they will remake it. I told her that most of the stuff is here but We had to consume some to figure out how bad it was. She said then she cannot help me then & disconnected the call. Highly disappointed in the quality of the food here. I have fond memories of Double Double when I was in college. Not sure if the brand has taken a nosedive or just this franchise, but it wasn't a great dinner.

The pizza was passable, but the cheese stuffed crust doesn't compare to stuffed crust from Papa Johns or even Pizza Hut. The toppings are the same old processed garbage that virtually every other pizza chain in the area serves. These places have to get a new supplier imo - one that offers real food.

The chicken? I can't believe they sell this stuff. Tiny, dried out morsels with little flavor (unless dry vinyl is a flavor?) at the same price you pay elsewhere. Way better bang for your buck at Popeye's, Mary Brown's or even (gasp) KFC.

Even the potato wedges were disappointing. They used to be flavorful wedges back in the day. Now they are just randomly chopped potatoes with the same dry vinyl seasoning as the chicken. I don't want a hunk of potato when I order wedges, I would like well, you know, actual wedges that have more surface area to season properly.

Gravy was "meh." Texture was right. Flavor again was a bit bland but not terrible.

We'll be double double thinking before we order from Double...

Had a really bad experience last night, placed an order via call for pickup. When I went to pick up the order and told them the order, the employee was hesitant and straight out said they didn't received any order from us(he gave my order to someone else and was trying to cover up by saying they didn't received my order), I played along and when other employee came, then he accepted the order got misplaced. They then offered to give me other customers order that they left behind, I asked will I get any discount since that is not what my preferred topping order was, they denied it and then I had to wait additional 20-30 min for my original order of 2 pizzas. The employee who made the mistake wasn't even sorry. This is not how you treat the customers who are spending their hard earned money at your business. I'll not be placing any further orders at this place and will ask my family and friends not to place order here as well. Great service, kudos to the management. Would have given 0, consider this 1 for the other employee who was cooperative and was trying to makeup for the mistake, other than him no one was...
