We went for dinner at GTS On The Beach during the Labour day weekend. The server seemed in a rush to take our order since it was the last one of the night, which I didn’t mind at first. But things quickly went downhill. We ordered the Perch fish and chips and Thai chicken bites. The Thai chicken bites turned out to be nothing more than popcorn chicken with some honey sauce. One of the dishes came with coleslaw that had completely gone bad, it smelled awful and should never have been served. The Perch fish, which we expected to be fresh given the location by the beach, was the opposite. It tasted stale, lacked any freshness, and had no flavor whatsoever. On top of that, there were two skunks roaming around inside the restaurant while we were eating. This is a serious health hazard. Even after informing the server, no action was taken. Instead, I was casually told with a smile that the skunks “come in at night” as if they were regular guests. If that’s the case, shouldn’t the restaurant have preventive measures in place, like sprays or deterrents, to keep them out? Despite all this, we paid the full bill but did ask to speak with the manager about the food. Her response was disappointing and she insisted that the fish was “freshly made.” Freshly made is not the same as using fresh ingredients, and that distinction matters. Overall, this was a very poor experience. Between the stale food, bad coleslaw, skunks walking around the dining area, and the staff’s dismissive attitude, the customer service was unacceptable. We will not be returning.

We recently visited GTs on the Beach to celebrate Father's day. Unfortunately, our experience started off a bit rocky. Our server, took our order but after waiting for over 45 minutes with no food, we had to ask about the delay. She reassured us that it would be out “right away,” but still, nothing came. At that point, I approached the owner, Carol—who I knew from my younger days—and explained the situation politely. She handled it with such professionalism and care. She apologized sincerely, got us complimentary chips and dip while we waited, and even applied a 25% discount to our bill. Shortly after that, the kitchen sent our food out promptly, and we were even given a free round of drinks (by accident, but still appreciated!). While the delay put a damper on the celebration at first, I have to say the way it was handled truly turned things around. Carol went above and beyond to make sure we felt taken care of, and I really appreciated how she treated my family. Things don’t always go perfectly, but it’s how the team responds that makes the difference—and GTs definitely made the effort to make it right.

I recently stopped in for the early bird breakfast special at GT’s on the Beach in Port Stanley, and it was a great way to start the day. Served between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., the special offers good value and a peaceful, beachfront setting before the place fills up. Free parking before 10:00 am. I had eggs over easy, sausage patties, home fries, and rye toast. The eggs were nicely cooked with yolks just the right level of runny. The sausage patties had good flavor and weren’t greasy, and the home fries were golden, crispy on the outside, and soft inside—exactly how they should be. The rye toast was fresh and generously buttered. The coffee—mild, hot, and satisfying for $4.00 with a refill. Our server was attentive, friendly, and quick to check in without hovering. Overall, GT’s early bird breakfast is well worth an early start. Good food, excellent coffee, and friendly service in a scenic lakeside setting.

WE went to GTs on Sunday after a bit of shopping, to have a relaxing beer and burger by the beach We got our beer quickly but the food was delayed more than half an hour and came stone cold! We flagged our server and conveyed our dilemma to her in a kindly and respectful manner that it appears the food was not delivered once it was ready for pick up and my wife indicated that no fault of her own and you are doing a good job can you please bring us a reorder for hot food. The waitress indicated this can take another half hour in which I indicated no problem perhaps a complementary beer while we waited. Shortly thereafter a woman barged over to our table in a huge rage, picked up our beer glasses and water and pitched the contents which most of ended up on us and the table. She was screaming I am the owner and I want you out of my restaurant. We were so traumatized by this attack we didn’t know what to do and asked what this was all about? She indicated we were rude to her server. My wife said this was not true at all, but the owner wanted no discussion. We got up to leave, my wife was ahead of me and I saw the two young men by our table to escort us out! We still did not understand why this was happening and I simply told everyone in the restaurant that we are being escorted out over cold food! The two young men took it upon themselves to push me along and manhandle me in an effort for me to hurry out. I am 71 years old and have foot and knee issues preventing me from moving fast. Even though I was moving towards the entrance I simply turned around and said we only complained that we got cold food is it necessary for them to push me along. They both continue to grabbed me in an effort for me to move faster. When we got near the entrance there was a steel barrier and they were pushing me towards it, but it in order for me prevent from faceplanting over it I grabbed the railing. My wife and I were both shaking and in shock after I was brutalized in such a manner. As we were going to our vehicle, we ran into the couple who were seated behind us and they couldn’t believe what happened. They said that they and several other patrons around us spoke to the owner and told her we treated the server in a very cordial manner and there was no rudeness whatsoever, which is the truth. It is simply not our nature to treat anyone disrespectable way. We found out later through the police whom I called of what took place. They indicated the server alleged that I had demeaned her and used profanity thus upsetting her and by holding on to the railing I was resisting to leave the restaurant. No such conversation took place. Our suspicion is the server fabricated these untruths and lied to the owner to deflect from her failure to get our meal out when it was hot and rather than attempting to verify the accusations, the owner just reacted violently and continued the fabrication when questioned by law enforcement in an attempt to justify the atrocious treatment by her and her bouncers. The lack of professionalism and the level of brutality against a 71-year-old senior citizen is unconscionable. We have never been so humiliated in our life and why, because of cold food and a server who won’t own up to her error! It would have been so simple to just get us hot food and all of this unpleasantness would have been avoided. Perhaps the owner and her bouncers should consider anger management and customer service training while the server takes some ethics classes. Shame on the staff involved at GTs for putting innocent customers through such an unwarranted and harrowing experience by traumatizing two seniors who was simply enjoying a Sunday afternoon. We Defiantly don’t recommend...

Genuinely, avoid if you can - you’re better off bringing food to the beach or eating elsewhere.

First and foremost, the drink menu was pretty mediocre for a beach location. No tap beer, just tall cans of local craft, “local” vodka and some Miller. Congrats, you’ve achieved selling $10 sadness and some Blackfly.

Secondly, menu had a lot of options and the pictures on the menu looked to die for! The pictures. When we got our food and upon inspection and our first bite, our entire party noticed every single one of our Carnivore Burgers was super dry and the pattie’s were unfortunately not juicy, the buns were essentially almost rock hard, the bacon felt like cardboard and felt almost weirdly impossible(?) to chew, and the pulled pork was just a no-go. Overall, we all complained about how dry and mildly upsetting it was. My husband ordered a pulled pork poutine, and the serving size was maybe the size of his hand at the right angle and was also essentially super dry, only thing saving it was the gravy.

Lastly, upon his last bite, my husband literally finds a piece of plastic in his burger. We complained to the server who looked disappointed and said, word for word, “that’s the second time that’s happened this evening. It’s from the squeeze bottles.” Excuse me? Second time? And what squeeze bottle? If there was any kind of liquid or sauce on this burger it was absolutely inhaled by the burger which was dying of attention and dehydration.

Save your kids a hospital trip, your teeth from chipping by eating plastic and rocks, and also like $58 like we did (after a so incredibly generous $6 discount after finding a nice little plastic squeeze bottle piece!) and for the love of god, go eat elsewhere, wait until you get home or bring food to the beach with you.

I appreciate how kind she tried to be, but man,...
