The service was excellent, very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious, and the owners definitely take pride in the business.
86 the bad reviews, Iykyk.
As a classically trained Chef I appreciated the variety of food on offer, and the style of service. My partner, daughter and I ordered the Hot and sour soup, Singapore noodles with chicken, baby bok choy in garlic suace, and the tempura Enoki.
The hot and sour soup, although not what we were expecting was fantastic, with a good variety of textures in the dish and a smooth, full flavour.
The Singapore noodles were perfectly seasoned, the chicken was wonderfully tender, with just a little spice, and a pleasant char flavour.
The baby bok choy was perfectly cooked, with a little bite and a fragrant garlic suace.
The Tempura enoki was a wonderfully unique dish I've never seen before, and my immediate reaction was that it looked like beer battered clams. the owner told us that she had the idea to offer something akin to a vegetarian or vegan fried clam or oyster and absolutely nailed it in my opinion.
Would definitely recommend this place, especially if you go as a group and order to share family style.
Don't expect the food to come all together as you would at a steak house or other american style restaurant. They came out spaced perfectly so that we were able to taste, and enjoy each dish before the next arrived.
It's very clear that they take pride in what they do, and are really trying to make it the best...
Read moreOn Dec 31st, I visited Kings BBQ to celebrate New Year's Eve with my family. The restaurant had a limited selection for the special night, offering family meals with a choice of main courses such as Chicken Fried Rice or Beef, accompanied by egg rolls or spring rolls. Despite the promising menu, our experience was dampened by the disappointment of consistently cold food.
Opting for Chicken Fried Rice and spring rolls in our family meal for three, we noticed that the dishes were served cold. Despite providing feedback to the owner about the initial dish being cold, the issue persisted with the fried rice. It seemed like the food had been precooked in bulk, possibly to expedite service, but reheating it adequately could have improved the experience.
While I appreciate the owner's consideration for time efficiency, it's crucial to recognize that diners expect freshly cooked, hot food when dining in a restaurant, especially on special occasions. In today's challenging economic climate, customers seek value for money, particularly when celebrating with family.
Aside from the temperature issue with the fried rice, we enjoyed the flavors of the other dishes. Nevertheless, the overall experience would have been significantly enhanced if the restaurant prioritized serving hot, freshly prepared meals, creating a more memorable celebration for customers. Not to forget mentioning about our server was...
Read moreI have been going to this restaurant for about ten years now, so I have had good, fair, and bad experiences. My recent visit will definitely be my last!!
It was dinner time, and as per usual, they have one person working the tables, taking orders, cashing people out, and running the food. Needless to say, a simple fried rice and Chow Mein took over 25 minutes to get to the table, and not at the same time. Our Chow Mein order was wrong and the owner instead of accommodating or attempting to make the attempt at understanding that our order was wrong, proceeded to argue with me and telling me that that is how they normally cook this dish, NOT AT ALL! They brought us two spring rolls each, which I thought was part of the dinner service, when I noticed a charge of $5.00 for something we did not order, I asked what it was for she said that it was for the spring rolls I ordered, which we did not! She proceeded to tell me there was nothing she could do because I had already consumed the food and this was my fault. She yelled at me in front of other customers, ripped my bill out of my hand, rang up the amount, without even offering an apology.
The food is fairly good most of the time, but the price gouging, terrible service, and awful treatment has made me retire my favourite Chinese Restaurant....
