Should’ve listened to the review. Couldn’t eat my pho. Never in my life have I ever been served pho with no herbs. Broth was tasteless, asked for fish sauce to help, couldn’t eat it. While I sit here looking at another restaurants menu. Now I understand why we’re the only customer in here. Ordered Vietnamese ice coffee and tastes like water ice. Left with an empty stomach and a full bowl of pho that I just can’t eat.
Edited: thank you for your comment. My boyfriend ordered the original pho as you’ve suggested and he added plenty of hot sauce as it was very bland. There was not one time I was rude, in fact, I should’ve just sent my food back as I didn’t eat it, instead I paid for it with a tip(when service was limited) and left. When you advertise soft tendon in the pho, please don’t add one tiny piece and put it on the menu, the reason why I ordered that specific item was for the soft tendon. This is definitely not authentic pho, couldn’t finish the pho, that’s a big problem as I never waste food. Please check out all the reviews I’ve left, I don’t generally leave negative reviews but tourist like myself needs to know where best to go and not waste their time and money. Sorry but it’s my...
Read moreThis restaurant offers a pleasant atmosphere; however, the food and service when we visited were sub par. Service was slow, as the restaurant seems understaffed, and items were forgotten (drinks had to be reordered). We ordered salad rolls, two vermicelli dishes, one fried chicken dish with chili sauce, and a Thai seafood soup. The salad rolls were merely fine, but the dipping sauce was not good at all. The vermicelli dishes were okay, but here too the sauce that was provided was not typical of what you get in most Vietnamese restaurants. In addition, they don't come with the typical sides of bean sprouts, cilantro or lime. Indeed the menu says the restaurant does not use cilantro! (Not sure how a Vietnamese restaurant can be entirely without cilantro...) The fried chicken was crispy and succulent, but was served with a store bought sweet chili sauce. The Thai seafood soup can only be described as inedible. The broth was bland peppery water, with a few small shrimp floating on rice noodles with just a few sad carrots thrown in. Terrible. I am accustomed to exceptional Vietnamese food in the city where I live (Winnipeg), and this restaurant just simply could...
Read moreSummary: This restaurant probably makes instant pho broth. They need to do better because it is just wrong to be a Vietnamese restaurant and not make real beef broth.
Service is very poor probably because there is only one server and wait time is very long even if there are very few customers.
We came in around 1:30pm, and the restaurant only had about 3 other tables with patrons, most of which had already received their food. My partner and I each ordered only one dish. We waited 45 mins for our food. With pho, the broth should have already been prepared, and adding rare beef also should not take so long. The fact it took so long to prepare made me think they had not prepared broth or ran out and made instant pho broth. The broth was flavourless.
The positive reviews are confusing to me because the restaurant has a note in their menu that says they do not offer basil, cilantro, or bean sprouts on the side. A plate of these with lime is ESSENTIAL to adding to pho! This made me immediately question the quality of the food.
I ordered egg noodles and it was overcooked and mushy. My partner’s pho was...
