We placed an order over the phone at 5:00pm and were told that the order for 6 would be ready in 20 minutes. When we arrived to pick it up, we were greeted with "so we were going to call you but didn't have the right phone number. Your order won't be ready until close. And what you ordered isn't on the menu." When I told them I went onto the website, I was cut off and told they do not have a website. If you go onto Google Maps, there is a link to their website...anyways, the 3 waitresses walked away and left my husband and I just standing there. It was very dismissive and unprofessional. We told them to cancel our order and left. After speaking with my husband I went back in to ask for the manager's information, along with the names of the people who were working. I was left standing at the front for over 8 minutes, with no explanation. Once the receptionist returned, she informed me that the manager Jamie (who has taken over the restaurant) was ready for me. Fast forward to today. I called to speak with Jamie. She was defensive and really did not want to hear what I was I saying. It felt as if I was being dismissed.
I will be following up with head office but in a time like this, where people are trying to cut back on spending, which is affecting all businesses, I would have hoped a restaurant would be greatful for weekly business. I would suggest if you are looking to eat out, you go to another restaurant, one that values...
Read moreI tried viewing the menu online but what a FRUSTRATING experience that was. When trying to view the menu, it asks if want to “Download the PDF?” but when you click on that, you receive a 404 Error message stating that the page is unavailable. Then it shows images of pages of the menu which your supposed to click on the page you want to view. Yeah right! When you click on an image like the breakfast menu for example, the page will open but you have about 3 seconds to read it before you get kick back to the main page!!
If a company the size of “Smitty’s” can’t even have a website that works, it tells you a lot about what you can expect at one of their restaurants. We were considering go their for a meal while we’re in Charlottetown on a short vacation BUT, I guess we’ll SKIP this place!!

I had coffee with my breakfast, and they after getting my first cup, they came around 5 minutes later asking if I wanted any more. They didn't ask again the rest of the meal and when I had finished and the waitress asked how things were and if I needed anything, I asked for some more coffee. Rather than her getting me some she told me "Oh someone should be around." After waiting another 10 minutes I just left. The restaurant was not busy at all, and there were plenty of staff walking by us, me with my coffee cup at the edge of the table with milk all ready to go. Would have been nice if the lady just grabbed me some coffee when I asked. Like I said its usually good but this left me feeling...
