We have visited a few times in the past and today we stopped in for a bite to eat with our kids. Tammy was awesome, friendly, and attentive to our kids Unfortunately, a few bites into my meal, as I put beans in my mouth I bit down on something hard. I pulled it out of my mouth to find it was a push pin, like the kind you hang stuff on the wall with! Tammy seemed genuinely sorry but stuck on what to do, like she wanted to do more but felt like she couldn't as the manager wouldn't be ok with her taking care of the situation. She took the beans away and offered more or anything different and comped my meal. It was an unsettling feeling as it could've been worse, and it could've been one of the kids. The kitchen staff, I was told, was shocked. However, they didn't come out to acknowledge it or apologize. The food / atmosphere was not like it used to be, the rice was bland, and the atmosphere seems off. Even without the thumb tack, it was something we noticed in comparison to previous visits and we were chatting about prior to receiving our food.
We likely won't be back again, the response to the thumb tack wasn't awesome and left us feeling uncomfortable. I'm glad I didn't accidentally swallow it and I am glad it didn't pierce into me as I bit down. I hope Tammy's employer can give her the confidence to serve client's in the way she feels is right for the situation. She is a great server and it's clear she's passionate about wanting to do more for the clients who are...

This lil restaurant is a hidden gem of Chilliwack. I have tried other Mexican food before but I was never blown away. Alicia’s Flavours changed that. Let’s start with the free nacho’s as my appetizer. They were FRESH. Not stale, mass produced, stored in the pantry always ready for customers. The nachos were top quality to go along with the mildly spiced fresh salsa. The Nachos were ultra crisp and the salsa didn’t taste like it was out of a jar. I went with Combo 1 tacos (after eavesdropping what the server recommended to the customer ahead of me) and a Carne Asada. The combo tacos was out of this world. Super flavorful and seasoned well. Very juicy and was perfect with a fresh squeeze of lime. The Carne was cooked medium well and was very tasty. The tacos was the one that blew me away. Eric served my meal and ensured my water cup was refilled constantly (good to always stay hydrated). They even let me eat uninterrupted even though they were closing (I did not know). I thanked them graciously for letting me stay. Eric made light conversation with me while I paid for my bill. Service was excellent and I tipped them well. I told Eric I would be back when I ever pass though town. He said he looked forward to it.
If you don’t give this unassuming restaurant a chance, you are seriously missing out on the best tacos. I will probably try the 7 taco platter the next time I am there.

Read moreUpdating my review as we ordered pick up yesterday for a family dinner. We haven't been here in a year or two and sadly this is not what it once was. They told us over the phone as we ordered that they weren't busy and the kitchen was pretty free - fresh food is amazing, and it means our food should be well prepared. But after a semi expensive bill, multiple burritos, taco platter, quesadilla's, and some churro's later I'm sadly not going to be returning. We ordered an extra large salsa side and didn't receive it but paid for it. They told us they were fully out of beef barbacoa, so we expected to get the shrimp and fish taco's with our taco platter. (One of each to try) We did not receive those either. Everyone's burritos we ordered were all rice, no meat or hardly any meat. All four burrito's are like this, just filled with rice. The churro's were so hard, my father who has no teeth couldn't bite them and my mom said they were bitter tasting.
You get better quality from the taco del mar or mucho burrito chains. What happened in the past coupler years??? And why weren't we informed you also had no shrimp or fish for our taco platter? The taco's were pretty little filled, the quesadilla was well made but very floppy and missing cheese. The staff was really nice, it seemed like only two people were working when we came in. I'am really sad,...
