My family and I ordered the Beef Broccoli and Beef Vegetable with Black Bean sauce for takeout. When we got home and opened up the dishes, we realized how small the portion considering what it was worth. We also had rice as well, but once again, the portions were small. The food was medicore. They were too salty (drenched in soya sauce). There was more vegetable than beef. The beef was tiny and cut to small clumps. The food got cold quick even though we drove to a nearby place. I assume the oil used was a bit unclean since I started feel an uneasiness in my stomach. Despite the poor/ medicore quality of food at this place, I was okay with the customer service since the lady at the front was kind and willing to listen to my order. The restaurant layout was strange because there were only a couple of tables and chairs. It seems like the front part of the restaurant was used as storage space as well. If you are considering to dine in with your family here, then I would say atmosphere will not be right for dine-in. There is poor lighting and the restaurant felt empty. There is parking available outside but not much and this place is next to a gas station. I did not stay long enough to see whether there was a washroom at the place.

It was alright. It curbed my Chinese food craving. It's cheap and cheerful. I wouldn't say it's the best Chinese food place but it's definitely not the worst. I ordered the wonton soup and it was definitely different than what I'm use to(vancouver). It was a very dark soup base that almost tasted and smelt like miso soup. The honey garlic pork also looked very different than what I am use to. A lot lighter. Lots of sauce though! It was still good. The Cantonese chowmein was alright. Could definitely use more sauce and less veggies. BBQ Pork Fried rice, it was alright. A little dark, next to no egg or any green onions in it. All in all, it's definitely a good place to go if you aren't use to Vancouver restaurants.

Cheap and good food. Theres more expensive places in town to get the same quality. Like all Chinese food its hit or miss with the grease content but Gynkos downtown seems to always have minimilized it. It gets a bad reputation and idk why. I find it's way more consistent and better than most places in town. 2 star for Atmospheric because there no indoor dining and it's basically a storefront now. There's room in there for them to put in a gift shop or something small. I think that would be cool.

Wonton soup was flavorless... the honey garlic chicken was thankfully real chicken- like actual meat and not gristle, but the sauce was homemade (which is usually a good thing if only it didn't taste like sugared garlic), and the shredded chicken chowmein with thin noodles was like ramen- in the sense it tasted like it... and the chicken was just shredded on top of it and was obviously some sort of pre-prepared chicken from safeway or something, and not cooked with, or in the chowmein... it was just kind of sprinkled on top. Also, there was like, a finger pinch of bean sprouts, no shredded cabbage, and too many onions in the chowmein.

So, It's 10$ for delivery, and I know for a fact it doesn't take 10$ in gas to get where I am from chilliwack. It's Christmas eve, so bless their hearts for even delivering to me, but holy Jesus is the food kinda bad. Sorry Ginko's... I wanted to like you, but it just never worked out between us... or anyone else in the house.

Eat there for the cheap 5 buck lunch if yur in a pinch- but do not order this for take out for...

Ordered online and never got a confirmation call or email after providing both I waited an hour. I will just stick with ordering online from other places. I know other places that have better online service than this.

1 year update: I walked into Ginkos to order supper for my family and I. The fish tank in the eating area never looked like it has been cleaned. There was very little seating area and NOBODY was even in the eating area. Anyways I get my food and go home. I kid you not after telling the lady that I was allergic to mushrooms and not to include them in the beef and greens they had put extra mushrooms in, and also the chicken balls tasted like they were cooked in mushrooms too. Yes I picked out the mushrooms from the beef and greens, but still I felt ill from...
