I give them a 1 star for RUDE DISRESPECTFUL BEHAVIOUR FROM THE GENTLEMAN CLAIMING TO BE THE OWNER/MANAGER -I will relay my experiences and allow you to decide for yourself if you would feel the same way after shelling out $72.00 on your 1st order at this establishment!
After entering this restaurant for the 1st time(been to other franchises, but none operated by the owner/management of this establishment)to pick up my $72.00 halibut combo. The oriental/asian man(who later claims to be owner/manager; more on that later) decided he'd first help a customer who had been waiting less time for his order then me, so I made the very small comment of “you must of realized I’ve been here much longer” to which he replied with I’ll get to you next. Which normally would mean we're all good, however I was surprised he didn’t include any type of my bad, sorry , I apologize, even I didn’t notice you were waiting longer but he didn’t, and what surprised me the most was his condescending tone that made me feel disrespected. Just to put things in perspective even the customer who budged in front of me promptly apprized but I told him it was not on him to apologize as the employee(claims to be manager/owner) knew I was there first and it was his error to accommodate you first. Anyways I paid for my food and as I was taking it to leave, I'd just mentioned I felt disrespected as a 1st time customer spending $72.00 on a average amount of food and all I was looking for was simple acknowledge meant and a very simple sorry, my bad, anything along those lines and I would of forgotten about it instead he decided to tell me he didn’t care and when I followed up saying “do you care if I ever choose this establishment again and he replied “it’s up to you if you do or you don’t”, I let him know I would be leaving this review to let people know that someone spending $72.00 at his business does not matter to him, when I asked to speak to the manager he said “speaking” when I asked if he was the owner or the manager he just kept replying “speaking” in his condescending tone. When I finally said I will never spend money here again due to my rude attitude he said your rude for ordering at 7 and picking it up at 8:05 I was flabbergasted and walked out the door after letting him know the review would be left
as for the “I’m rude for ordering at 7:00(I checked the receipt, I ordered at 7:15) and picking it up at 8:05” what he meant is they had to call me at 7:55, asking how much longer I would be until I picked up my food, at which point I told them I was coming from 40 mins away and would be there in 7-10 mins, which I was. Also I want everyone to know multiple people were still in booth and or tables eating and multiple other customer(2) came in after me to pick up their takeout, including the previously mentioned customer which lead to the rude encounter from “owner/manager" so needless to say I was utterly shocked and won’t be going back.
PLEASE NOTE I BELIEVE ITS A GOOD CHAIN BUT THIS PARTICULAR FRANCHISE AND ANY OTHER OWNED AND MANAGED BY THIS EXACT GROUP REPRESENTED BY THE oriental/asian MAN CLAIMING TO BE EITHER THE MANAGER OWNER OR BOTH at 8;00 on Saturday August 1st. He costed you a customer who would spend 70+ dollars on premium non special menu items. please reach out if you want to apologize as thats all I was looking for...
Read moreI was a long time customer of sea lovers, my mom and I had been going there since the day it opened many years ago . Until March! When they had take out only and signs on the front windows to come in for take out . On this day , I had parked out front and gone in , proceeded to order what my mom and always order when we go , 2 piece halibut and an extra piece of halibut , we would share the fries etc ... it's all I have ever ordered from them is halibut .... I got to the take out counter , ordered exactly that , 2 piece halibut dinner and an extra piece of halibut , the girl behind the counter said cod , i said no , i want halibut ..... During the order , I was asked if I would like tarter sauce and I said of course... That will be an extra charge she says ... I asked why do I have to pay for tarter ( we always ate in ) and they said take is cheaper and its always been this way to be charged for tarter ..... ok thats fine , I dodmt agree with it as it was always free when I ate in ..... Once my order was taken , she said follow the arrows ,, the arrows take me to the back door , so I am a bit confused and asked if I am.supposed to wait outside ? They said no just wait back there voice says from the kitchen , im like ok and see x's on the floor n kinda figure im supposed to stay on an X ! The covid protocol was confusing, i could come in the back and go out the back , but could not come.in the front n go out the front ?? My order is ready I pick it up n head out the front door, the same voice- guy behind the counter rudely says go out the back , i said im parked ojt the front ( un aware of a walkway along the side of the building ) he yells at me to go out the back , you have been nothing but a problem since you got here and don't ever come back .... I said take your fish n chips back n he denied that and said there was no way I was getting my money back ... n told.me to get out of his restaurant.... I left , got home to my moms ,open the order n we got 2 pieces of cod n one piece of halibut, already stressed from this experience and an angry owner , I called and they were adamant I ordred cod ... I have never ordered cod there once as long as they have been there ... I habe shared my experience with my friends n have not been back since ..... though I was also told to never come.back ..... It was a regular thing for me and my 85 yr old mom , I have never been treated like that by any restaurant owner in my life .... I am allowed to ask questions when I dont understand ....... Will never eat there again and they do not deserve anyone's business , we now drive to white Rock for our fish n chips , instead of 2 blocks away Worst restaurant experience in my life ! Sad after so many years of enjoying sea lovers- they left a bad taste...
Read moreI ordered a plate of fries. I asked for a large plate of fries. Not a side of fries. I specifically said, “I don’t not want a side of fries on one of those little side plates. I want a large plate with fries and gravy. The girl said no problem. When she returned with the food she had forgotten the sauces the table had requested. She brought me a small side plate with a some fries. I said, excuse me but this is a small side plate of fries. She answered as though I should know that was the size. I reminded her of our conversation and she remembered. She said she was sorry and walked away and said she will be right back. It sounded like she was going to bring me the fries I requested. She came back and said that is the only size available. I said oh okay then I’ll pass on these. I don’t want to pay $7 for a few fries. She then said she would let the manager know. He didn’t come out. She just came and took the fries away and that was that. Didn’t say anything more. Then the service level for the table was severely reduced after that. She didn’t come to fill the drinks for the table. She came back once to get someone some more fish for their meal but that was it. From that point we had to request service. All of these five star reviews can’t be honest. My brother loves the place and regularly visits but I don’t see it. I think it’s terrible. The service is bad. Fish are small skinny pieces unless you order a regular meal and not the all you can eat...
