Arrived on February 27, around 1:30pm. The place was full, but eventually got a table in the middle of the restaurant. We were given a menu, which is fairly thick as it has a lot of pictures of the menu items. This was great, but it does require flipping through to try and find the actual menu. Very minor issue as the images helps with what the food looks like. There is also a Q code that you can scan and use on your phone as well.
We ordered and the food came out fast. I had the French Toast Fighter, which was two thick pieces of french toast covered with serrano ham, egg salad, boiled egg and two small balls of boccochini. A line of syrup outlined the plate. The overall taste was good. The french toast was not over done and the boiled egg "oozed" its yolk when opened. The dish was easy to eat, if that makes sense.
My partner had the heavenly toast, guacomole egg. The dish included a salad, a thick piece of toast with guacomole egg salad and a poached egg on top. I did not try it but my partner said it tasted good. The salad was well dressed. My youngest had the croffle (chocolate, single) which looks to be a croissant pressed into a waffle iron. This was excellent. The croissant was not heavy, like a regular waffle and the chocolate added a nice flavour.
For drinks, we had the chai latte, hot chocolate and drip coffee. The hot chocolate looked to have shaved dark chocolate on top. The chai latte had good flavour and drip coffee was good. The restaurant has a wide variety of hot and cold drinks, which says to me that this is one area of the menu that they pay attention to.
Service was excellent. All staff were very attentive, which included asking how your meal was, taking away your plate when you were finished and refilling of coffees.
Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Egg Bomb. The staff was friendly and attentive and the food...
Read moreCame here with a few friends for a Sunday brunch. Initially, it was a bit awkward, as we were sitting at our table for a long time and weren't given menus. First time eating here for all of us, and so one of us approached the counter to ask whether we needed to place orders at the counter? The lady was apologetic and brought us a few menus to share. I think other tables had menus and they did not have enough. The wait for food was not long, our group ordered a variety of things including soup, egg bomb sandwiches, and toast heaven items. I had the Avacado egg forest and enjoyed it. I especially liked the thick slices of bread they use, toasty and delicious. The sandwiches were unique and generously filled with eggs. Here's where they lost my stars... I really enjoy a good butter croissant, and the ones they had in their bakery display looked great. We were stuffed, so two of us bought croissants to enjoy later. A few hours after our visit at Egg Bomb, we ate these croissants, only to find that they were COMPLETELY stale. Not wanting to be wasteful, we even tried reheating them in the oven or microwave - but that just made it worse (that's how stale they were!). This was not a few hours or a day stale... It really tasted like something you accidentally leave on a counter uncovered for a week... I was quite disappointing and I don't think I would want to try any other bakery items they have in their display.
Overall, would recommend for breakfast/brunch plates on the menu but I would not come in for baked goods that sit in...
Read moreWe were too early for Marie Gluten Free Bakery, so we looked for a coffee place and found Egg Bomb. They had a wait list going. This is more of a breakfast place. Since the menu is all in pictures, it was hard not to pick a food item. We selected the Busy Egg platter which includes a salad, fluffy eggs, and toast. We also ordered latte and cappuccino. I'm glad we ordered food, the eggs came steaming hot and more fluffy than I can make it. My oat latte was a disappointment though, it was so bitter I couldn't finish it. We came back a second time to try something else. If this place was in Vancouver, we'd be eating there a lot more often. I tried the teriyaki beef sandwich. It was really hard to figure out how to eat this massive sandwich. So, I ended up tasting some teriyaki beef first. Since the beef was meant to go with the egg and bread, I found the beef on the salty side when I had my first couple of bites of beef without the egg and the bread. The massive sandwich was extremely filling, and I didn't feel like having dinner that day. My partner tried the Fighter French Toast with Serrano ham, boiled egg and bocconcini cheese. It looked really scrumptious. I also tried the sweet potato latte with oat milk, it tasted great, but they didn't serve it with a spoon, so I was not able to take full advantage of the sweet potatoes that were not integrated into the drink and left at the bottom of the cup. We saw quite a few croffle options that looked really good, but since we were quite full after...
