The Pie Hole — Restaurant in City of Langley

I have been looking forward to trying this place for sooo long! I am a pie/baked goods fanatic. I was dazzled by all the options- how does one pick?? Fortunately I had lots of time to think because the service was sooo slow. The one lady started helping me and then stopped to go help someone else new into the store after me! Not sure why the other employee didn’t offer to help. She seemed to just be standing around. I was in the middle of choosing items for my box and then the one employee left and helped someone else, ringing them out and everything! And also she misunderstood me even though I clearly asked the same question twice. And she went off on a tangent explaining something and I could hardly understand her. Plus she was talking about something that had nothing to do with me. It was just very frustrating!

I decided to order our items to-go because the atmosphere was cold & not welcoming. The seats were weird… barstools throughout. Very uncomfortable. I get the theme they’re looking for but no one was sitting or liking the vibe. Hopefully the pies will be good because three mini pies & 1L of ice cream came to $97!!! And I have to cook it at home. If the pies are yummy, I might go back but I wouldn’t go...

I ordered a 9" Vegan Apple Pir for Christmas this year. The price was as expected from a proper bakery, the online ordering was streamlined and simple, and the pick-up process was quick and seemless.

The pie itself was absolutely delicious. My non-vegan guests told me that they would not have known it was vegan if I hadn't told them. The crust was buttery and flakey, the apples were soft but not mushy, and the filling was sweet and held up very well. I had ordered the pie fresh and it baked perfectly per the instructions.

The only critique I have is in regards to said instructions. The pie itself didn't come with any and I had to go looking for them on The Pie Hole website. As a tech-savy person they were easy enough to find, but I think it would be a good idea for the cooking instructions to be included in some way with the physical pie, such as being pre-printed into the pie box or as a small pamphlet given at pick-up time.

For my first pie from the Pie Hole I am impressed and so glad I ordered from them. If I need a pie again in the future I will...

Restaurant had nice decor. Only two employees that were working super hard but it was impossible for them to keep up on cleaning tables in addition to the long line. Took a bit to get service, but the employees were lovely, just not enough of them.

Was super busy, lots of dirty tables. We and others cleaned off our own tables to find a spot to sit. This resulted in some tables with stacks of dirty dishes on them.

We tried several things:

The bacon cheeseburger 5 inch pie - 5/10. Flavour was dry hamburger meat with no seasoning. Crust was nice. I wouldn’t buy this again.

Fat Elvis slice of pie - 8/10. Very nice pie.

Apple pie slice - 8.5/10. Very nice apple pie. Nice crust. We asked for it heated but it was cold in the middle.

Banana cream pie - 7/10. Just an average banana cream pie.

Chunky monkey hot chocolate- 10/10. Super sweet but delicious hot chocolate. Very rich chocolate flavour.

Overall, we will come back here. I’ll keep trying the savoury pies to see if any are better than...
