Visited the park and adjacent Maison Michaud for a 200th anniversary celebration of the arrival of voyageurs (first Europeans) to this spot. Fascinating to learn of BC’s early history, and how this “Portage” led to the creation of Fort Langley, the Hudson Bay post that was pivotal to the creation of British Columbia. One interesting feature is how the city named various trees by the playground. I like how this provides a great way to learn about the names of the different trees located there. Read moreA beautiful woodland area. A children's playpark exists at the edge of the wooded area. There is no tree cover for the children's playpark so it is quite hot and sunny on warm clear days. There are only about 6 structures in the playground (swings, merry go round, see saw, small slide, jungle gym). It tends to be very quiet and secluded. There is a picnic area in a shed/gazebo.
