On Friday afternoon I instinctively decided on trying out this restaurant close to our place. have been trying to go there for couple of years but never got a chance. Firstly let me tell you about parking - its on the street as it is in the heart of Langley Township. Entrance was simple and there was no much fancy décor to it. Reception - I had already reserved seat for 5 so it was not a hassle and they already had an empty table with reserved sign on it. Inside ambiance was also very simple yet pleasing. it was already filled with only 2 tables empty both of which were reserved seating of which one was for us. Service - the person was very caring, after seating us she came back in couple of minutes with the complimentary middle eastern tea (SULAIMANI). it was very authentic and thoughtful. Later she came back to take our orders (in around 5 to 7 minutes) giving us enough time to search thru the menu. We ordered all different dishes. Starting with wings, a dish with eggplant and meat (cant recollect the actual name) served with house made bread which was awesome. Our drink option was "Doough" & Mango Juice - both was excellent. We also ordered the main course in the beginning itself so that they get enough time cook and we don't have to wait too long. Salmon steak, beef steak, chicken steak and chicken kababs. Man the presentation was amazing just as shown in the pictures. It was not like most other restaurants where you see an amazing presentation of the main course then later on when you get it it looks disappointing basically lacking presentation. The main course is served with Basmati rice and half slice of baked tomato and a bowl of salad. They have used a very high quality rice for it. Basmati rice is a very good combination for the steak compared to the bun/bread served in other restaurants. please try this healthier combo. When we saw the rice portion we thought we would have to order more rice, but as we devoured thru it, it turned out to be absolutely filling. the portion for FISH, Chicken and KABAB was amazing. The best part was the beef it was extremely filling and tasty. For almost $40 it is better than all other steak we have had in other places - not fair to name them. I did order for a well done portion and it was perfect for me - even after sharing with my family there was lots for me. The only negative was the baked tomato which was mushy and soggy (if you like it that way don't worry). The food - AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING and AMAZING for all the 4 main items. Finally for the desert we ordered "Baklava" it was a totally different kind of Baklava and it was just ultimate - the best we ever had. All in all I highly recommend this place. Excellent job team "AVISHAN". Keep up the good work. Please do not reduce the portion sizes. I know its very tough right now in Canada, prices of everything is going up, but you have done an excellent job in your food quality taste and presentation. Best regards -...

Went on October 8, 2021. Arrived in the evening, an hour to closing and was given a table at the side of the wall. Was wondering if we were going to be asked for the vaccine passport, which we were when we sat down. Restaurant is very clean with pictures of what look to be historical sites in the Middle East.

We were provided a tea that came with a cube of sugar to mix in. My wife mixed in the sugar in hers, while I drank mine without. Both styles were good. Tea was mild and not over steeped. Food wise, started with the Halim Basemjan, which is a mixed of eggplant, meat and lentils in a savory sauce. Very pleasant and quite tasty. Came with a bread that was similar that I thought was similar to a focaccia. A nice dish to mop up with the bread.

For entrees, my wife and shared the Soltani and the lamb shank. Soltani is a grilled seasoned ground lamb and a grilled lamb tenderloin. Comes with rice, grilled tomatoes and and what looked to be a cucumber salad. Both meats were well seasoned and very tasty. Lamb tenderloin was done to medium. The rice looked to be a combination of white and saffron basmati. The lamb shank was very tender and well marinated. Very flavourful, especially when the drippings on the dish was combined with the rice. Overall, all meats were well prepared, not over seasoned or over done, and had excellent taste. If I did have one issue, it would be the salad, as I thought it was slightly salty. But overall, not a major concern.

Our server was very friendly, especially since we were over the time that they were supposed to close. I did initially think the service might be slow, based on the people seated and not having their entrees in front of them, but our food came out in a timely manner. Overall, I would say my experience at Avishan was excellent. The food was awesome and the service was friendly and prompt. Would definitely...

I rarely write one-star reviews because I understand how much effort business owners put into running a restaurant and building a good reputation. However, our experience at this restaurant was so disappointing that I simply can’t overlook it.

We were a group of seven people who had reserved a table in advance. Due to an unexpected issue with one of our friend’s children, we arrived 20 minutes late. Despite the fact that we could clearly see empty tables inside, the staff told us to stay outside in a rude and insulting manner simply because we were late. It was upsetting and humiliating, especially since it was a long weekend and we had made plans to enjoy a nice time together.

Two members of our group approached the manager to complain about the unprofessional behavior of the waitress. Although the manager did apologize, and we decided to proceed with our dinner, the situation didn’t improve. Another waitress served us, and her attitude was even worse—she looked angry the entire time, didn’t even attempt to smile, and carried herself as though she was waiting for a reason to argue. The lack of basic courtesy and warmth was shocking.

About food: Kashk Bademjan had a nice presentation, but unfortunately, no flavour at all. The Lamb Shoulder was nice but poorly cleaned, with a very unpleasant piece of lamb skin still on it.

We will never return, not because of the food but because of the terrible customer service, which seems to be their lowest priority. In my opinion, the staff lacks the basic qualities required to work in the hospitality industry. A restaurant can survive average food, but not consistent disrespect and poor treatment...

Overall : Great food & good ambiance. Seemed a little pricey at first but the portion size and quality of food is WELL WORTH IT and more, given the prime cuts and quality of meat they use. Definitely try it out for the amazing meat dishes, fresh salads and incredible cake slices. Food: Well presented, very flavourful with delicate subtle spices helping you appreciate the core ingredients. Lamb Chops : well spiced and well cooked. Koobideh : delicate and tasty, Highlight : saffron rice with fresh cracked egg, one of the best plain rice dishes i have ever tried. Definitely TRY : their cake slicessss heavenly. Drink: had the complimentary tea was light and perfectly brewed. Service: was ok, it was a newer server, so wont hold it against them :) Owner/chef did come out personally to check if everything was tasting ok, I always appreciate that, to see a family owned and run restaurant trying their best to please their customers. Ambiance: Well decorated, pleasantly simple with little hints of middle east and Iranian antiques. Well lit and airy , was a sunny afternoon so nice and bright inside. Nice and clean space.
