Walking into Coffee Time in Bowmanville Mall on Aug. 6th, 2023, was like stepping back in time to an era when coffee shops like these were the heart of the community. The visit brought back fond memories of the past while treating us to a modern twist on a classic experience.

What truly stood out during our visit was the chance to savor their Summer Coolers, the Passion Fruit Lemonade. The blend of tropical passion fruit and zesty lemon was a perfect embodiment of the season, offering a sweet and tangy delight. However, it's worth noting that the sweetness was quite pronounced and the concentration of flavors leaned towards the intense side. My friend, who prefers a milder taste, decided to experiment by adding soda water to the drink. This ingenious alteration transformed the beverage into a fizzy, lighter version that suited her palate perfectly, turning the initial encounter into an even more enjoyable memory.

This location would highly benefit from having a third person working in the mornings. Maybe delicate certain things to each individual for morning. 1 person cash/1person on food/ 1 on drinks. There is potential to make this work really well if they had protocol or procedures in place during rush hours. Morning wait times are long for this reason. Atmosphere- Clean. Always a table available if you’d like to sit. Drinks- Good. Hot and (I don’t order anything complex just coffee) but always accurate. Good- This is where it gets questionable. Bagels w/ Creamcheese are fine anything premade to be warmed(I.e- Samosa/Beef patty) is also fine. But if you ask for a BLT they are skimpy on the meat I find. I’m sure probably protocol because Tim hortons has a limit of 6 pieces before they make you pay extra. (Mind you both Tim hortons and Coffee time use similar if not the same size bacon. And Coffee time will give you a lot less bacon. They should change this because I am always very disappointed with the BLT. Walk-in to see Jamie nose deep into her phone so I ask for 2 large double doubles like I have for the last 10 or more year almost everyday. While i wait I hear Um excuse me your forgetting someone (my mask) without saying a word I put my mask on issue solved. But wait someone has to express their opinion to me about why she can’t believe I had a mask in my pocket but wasn’t wearing it being extremely rude and personal not knowing my history. So I reply to her ok I put the mask on lets leave it at that but nope she wants to keep talking and talking about how she thinks she knows everything about policies.
