Updating: 70% of the time, we had always dine in at 8pm and finished at 9:15pm never had any issues with the food and services. I HAD never been so disappointed with this restaurant before. Upon arrival at 8pm we were greeted by the NEW waitress and was told that last called was at 9pm. So as soon as we sat down we started order our usual sushi and sashimi order and also immediately ordered the deep fried tempura and appetizers. As we ate our food I notice an unusual wait time for the deep fried appetizers and tempura and asked the usual waitress that we usually see when dine in to check. She returned and told us that there was a problem with the kitchen machine and the tempura and deep fried appetizers will come out soon. By 9:10pm our deep fried appetizers and tempura arrived. The tempura was soaking in oils and still bite my tongue and did not make a complaint. At 9:25pm the New waitress walked over and asked us to paid so they can close the sales for the day that wasn’t a problem. TIL I asked for a to go box and explained to her that the appetizer and the tempura came out extremely late so we didn’t have enough time to finish. Her response was oh you have to extra and I told her that we order immediately after sitting down and that there was an issue in the kitchen, costing a delay. She left and return with a box and said no charge this time and immediately told me that next time I should’ve come in earlier. We had never ONCE in our lives in the pass 11 years coming here and anywhere for that matter was told by a waiter or waitress “TO COME IN EARLY”. I have spoken to the owner and told him what she said was unacceptable in any level of customer service. We know that they have to travel a distance to get home and that why we order all our kitchen food all at once open sitting down. We understand that things can happen (issues with the power brakes in the kitchen, causing the delay). No matter how long and tried your day is you can NEVER tell a customer what time to come and give them attitude. I was told by my family members that she was staring at our table and as she was leaving racing both hands in the air (giving them the what the hell attitude). Due to her service that why the low rating and the amount of oils soaking in the tempura and appetizer.
Old: Want here for all you can eat on Tuesday, the all you can eat menu has a lot of food that we normally order but due to change of ownership now there less choices. Price is the same A $31.99 and C $16.99 - $110.70 after tax (2A and 2C) is quick pricey with the limited choice. Anything stir fried it’s super salty. miss the old owner...
Read moreThe service is subpar at best. It appears the management has changed or the service simply has drastically declined recently. Was ‘greeted’ by one of the wait staff and when we asked for a table for our party she simply pointed to a table without saying a word or even a smile. They brought over some tea and the tea was literally room temperature. It seems they had previously poured this tea and the cups had just been sitting out there for who knows long. We told the young man who serving us and he simply said ‘ oh sorry ‘. Eventually another waitress replaced the tea without any kind of word or explanation. Throughout the evening we kept asking for basic things that should have been automatically provided. And each time it seemed we were annoying the waitress Again, no smiles, no word of apology or any kind. Simply a straight face.
The food was ok. Wonton soup lacked flavour, tasted watered down. As the rolls started coming we realized they had not provided the wasabi and pickled ginger that is customary at a sushi restaurant. So we asked for it. Again no acknowledgement whatsoever and although we had a party of three, they only brought one serving of said items. The wasabi tasted nothing like wasabi it had no flavour or that punch you expect from wasabi. The soy sauce also tasted watered down and even looked watered down.
This was an overall disappointing experience to say the least. Will not be coming back...
Read moreUpdate again: The new rules are that a whole table has to be entirely all you can eat or all from the menu. This meant that my seven year old, who eats before we come, sometimes orders fries, a water, and ice cream at the end was this time given nothing. He wasn’t even allowed water and had to sit at the table beside us. Honestly, I get it with adults, but my son is little and so picky. We would have left when we were told he had to be charged the full buffet or sit beside us at another table but my other two younger daughters were both excited and starving. They always charge my five year old the higher 7-14 year old rate too. Not worth going to anymore if they won’t even provide water, or let us buy my son some fries just because he’s at the same table. The food quality and presentation has gone down a lot too. It used to look pretty but now looks like gross grocery story sushi. 2.5/5
Update: I think there has been a change in ownership, the menu is the same but portions are smaller and the staff have all changed. I will miss the original staff who were so kind and generous. Been twice with the new staff and it’s still good but we came for the staff as well as the food. The wonton soup used to be sweet is now too spicy for me. 4.5/5
This is my favourite sushi restaurant! The food is delicious and the service is very friendly and quick. I’ve eaten here since they opened in 2009 and love getting all you can eat or...
