Momos Eh!! — Restaurant in Clarington

Went here for the first time today. Could easily be top 10 restaurant in GTA for us on the first try.

Started off with very friendly and courtious people behind the counter. We wanted to try a few different things. So we ordered the following:

Green Inferno Momo: Recommended by Khurshid since my wife wanted something spicy, this was nice and soft momo smothered in green chilli, coriander and other herbs. Absolutely amazing, very spicy, not recommended unless you have strong spice tolerance. But if you like spicy, this is mindblowing.

House Special Momo: On the sweeter side, again the momo was very well cooked and strong flavours.

Cheese Malasa Puff: Fresh, crisp, and perfect quantity of fillings. It was perfect! Completely melted in the mouth.

Anda Chicken Kathi Roll: Freshly cooked and house made paratha covered with egg and fried, filled with a juicy chicken and the perfect amount of sauce to add to the taste. Took us back to the Dhabas of Bangladesh, absolutely mouth watering.

Salted Lassi: We are told they tried to replicate the taste of Ghol without the fermentation part. I've never had ghol, but it was somewhere in between an Ayraan and a Bangladeshi Borhani. Very refreshing, helped drown down the spice of the inferno mama.

Overall we are blown away. By the flavors, the friendliness and the freshness of all the items. Momo shops have been popping up like mushrooms everywhere lately. Just in Durham there are so many places that sells really good momos right now, but Momo's Eh is possibly the best we have tried so far. Fantastic momos!! I wasn’t able to find momos anywhere else in GTA and when I finally did come across these, I was blown away! I might as well have been in Delhi, that’s how impressed I was with the momos and the sauce. I was asked how hot I wanted the sauce to be and when I said “as hot as you can make it”, I wasn’t disappointed in the least by the end product!! Definitely going to be a regular here!

Edit 2 years after the initial review: Writing a review two years later and I'm extremely happy to know that the same impeccable standards have been maintained! There have been so many more items added to the menu and each one is better than the other! It has been such a pleasure to see that immense hard work has been put in to maintain standards and improve them (if that's even possible!), and the effort has been appreciated by the customers. I'm so surprised (pleasantly!) that even though they have grown and become busier than before, the taste and customer service is still top class!! Kudos to you Khursheed and team for being awesome as always which adds to the entire experience even if we are not dining in. The personal attention to each customer and their order, that is provided with a smile, is something that so many other restaurants can learn from. I wish you lots of success...

This restaurant is a hidden gem. No really - it's hard to see it from the road, but when you find it, you'll sure be happy you did!

The menu seems to be full of excellent choices, but for me the momos are the real showpiece. Don't know what a momo is? Imagine a dumpling filled with something spicy and delicious then served in some kind of sauce. Sounds tasty, right?

My favourite on the menu is the butter chicked momos. Served with a very nice piece of butter chicken in each dumpling, the real topper is the spicy-sweet sauce that covers each one. Perfection! I've enjoyed this dish both for lunch and dinner as the portion size is suitable for either.
