Our server Kara was great. My son&I were greeted at the door (must be difficult only allowing 10 inside at a time which requires a reservation and/or waiting list yet well worth it). We were going to the heated patio. We were in a nice cabina- style shelter protecting us from the wind, a beautiful fireplace & a big table and other table far from us). Well organized! I had a fabulous mushroom/swiss burger with poutine. My son had a 1 piece fish&chips and the haddock fish was almost the length of the plate so you can imagine my sons' eyes light up in amazement. (Mine too) We also ordered the bacon battered golden onion rings which was the main purpose of driving from Pickering for my son to have his first experience at such a homecooked-meal type restaurant. My gf & I went over the summer and the misters' station was awesome during a hot day which shot a cold blast of water-spray to help cool you off. I had the pulled pork poutine which was perfect. My gf had the bacon battered golden onion rings which were fabulous. A great place, nice & friendly staff, amazing food and always nice to give to businesses during these covid restrictions, stressed & challenging times. I send my thank you & respect to the manager & staff for running a tight ship, yet safe & comfortable for all to enjoy. The food is magic.

My boyfriend recommended me to go here after he visited this location during work. He was recommended by one of the locals. There is a shortage of staff but that is like everywhere nowadays with COVID-19. They are probably the most friendliest staff I have ever met. The waitress was very friendly, welcoming, attentive, responsive and helpful during the busy night there. Food was amazing and I was very happy with the fish and chips. The sauces on the side were perfect and lattice fries were so crispy. I will definitely be back here to try more food. Very welcoming atmosphere. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. There is parking by the restaurant but also public parking on the street side. Will definitely be back. Thank you for making our nights a good night. It's always nice to get amazing and welcoming customer service at restaurants!

Disappointing. Arrived at 12:45 noon and left at 2:10pm. It took far too long to prepare our meal on Sunday September 29, 2019. We waited 48 minutes for nachos, pulled pork on a bun, and a burger and fries. All were over cooked. The nachos looked bad. The pulled pork was dark grey and hard (over cooked). The burger meat was dry, and burnt. Fries are not hand cut (just go to any chip truck and you’ll see what hand cut fries actually look like). The pictures speak for themselves. The waitress was fine and still got a 15% tip... but the food was not properly prepared. The only good thing was the beer but it was a craft brewery and it would be unfair to mention the brewery in this review.

Well, I felt the need to jump on here. It's too bad because I thought I'd be giving a better review. Been here a few times with my husband and he goes with his brother about twice a month as well. I placed a telephone order for take out and when it arrived it was missing fries. Which isn't a big deal normally but because my husband is a fry guy, I called back and the staff member was nice and said they would deliver the rest of the order. I was feeling like maybe we will let it go this time after the call ended but before I could call them back we received a call back from the staff member. He proceeded to tell me what I ordered and I kept informing him that that was not correct. I told him what I ordered (again) and he kept saying I ordered salad as well and I'm like noooo I did not. That was not my order and I don't even have salad lol I don't know if he was confused or just believing the incorrect information that the other staff member said. My order was very simple. I said to the staff member, ok there's two meals and lets start with mine. I would like a pound of wings with a poutine for my meal then my husband's meal which will be the smokey chicken sandwich with fries. She said ok and asked me if I would like the large poutine or the half size for my meal. I giggled and said thank for letting me know and proceeded to remind her that my husband's got fries so the half size poutine would be best for my meal. Not sure why his fries were missed. I feel like they should record their telephone orders to avoid situations like this. This is what irritates me because she even repeated my order so clearly back to me and it included everything. It was a simple order and it went smoothly and both of us were very nice. I wish they would just accept the fact that they made a mistake and not be so defensive when a review is made. So this review is just to show that they should believe the customer because I have zero reason to lie and the staff member is probably trying to cover their butt. I just ended up saying to the guy after he got argumentative, nevermind just forget it and hung up. Too bad because I did like this place but this interaction left a bad taste in my mouth. Oh and it wasn't the food. The...

I tried this place out for the first time yesterday (22FEB2020) after reading the great reviews and I must say that I was totally disappointed! I had a squash tournament all morning in bowmanville and was starving when I got here. I sat at the bar and instantly noticed that the servers were struggling to keep up. There were only 2 servers in the entire restaurant that I could see and they were super busy since apparently lots of people came to the restaurant at the same time.

I ordered a drink and then a grilled vegetable sandwich (advertised as $14 on their menu) and added grilled chicken to it. It took more than AN HOUR for my food to come because apparently one of the chefs had called in SICK and I was told that the owners themselves were preparing the meals in the kitchen. When the meal finally arrived, it was very average in terms of taste and quality. Half the vegetables advertised on the menu weren't even on it. My server apologized to me, however, I was never provided with a glass of water or the side of mayonnaise that I had asked for. I know my server was overwhelmed (totally not her fault as she was trying hard to keep up with the increased demand) and she was going through some personal challenges which I totally understand, however, as a customer it is upto the restaurant to ensure that quality service is provided and that they have back-ups in the event there is a NO SHOW specially when its the weekend.

Despite the super long wait and the below average food, none of the owners came to apologize. Worse part is when I got the bill, I was charged $19 for the sandwich alone and $5 on top for the extra chicken. I was shocked to have had to pay $24 for something that wasn't even worth $5. I was not given any concession for the inconvenience and the sub par service. I work in Bowmanville as well and I'll make it a point to tell my colleagues not to go here. At the end, I was so frustrated and disappointed that I just wanted to get out of this place. The bill took forever to come as well. I won't recommend this place to anyone in the...

Sat on the patio, was asked what we wanted to drink but there was no drink menu so it was questions about what they have, server was knowledgeable about what was available. Took a look at the menu, server asked if we were ready to order, we needed a minute. Waited 24 minutes for them to come back. During that time they twice entered the patio and left without acknowledgement. We ordered, fish and the brisket au jus sandwich. 63 minutes after sitting down another server opened the door with our meal and asked 2 other tables if it was theirs. We got their attention and got our meal. The fish was served without lemon, we asked and were provided lemon so that was nice. Fish was good. The brisket sandwich was cold and the au jus, which seemed more a gravy because it was thick had sat long enough to form a skin on top. I removed the skin with a fork and tried it. When I spoke with the server about the temp of the sandwich she took the plate went to the kitchen returned with the plate 3 minutes later and informed me that's how it served. If they reheat the beef it's bad. If that is true of this particular dish, when I asked about it should the server just have known that and not had to take my plate to the kitchen? I questioned it and wasn't offered any follow up. Now the meal that started cold has wandered around the restaurant and back to me.we literally just got in to town after hours of driving, so I gave in and ate it cold. The bill was never provided just a card machine with the cost of the meal. After dropping the machine off the server disappeared again we waited a few minutes then just left the machine on the table. We are in town for wedding planning and looking for places to recommend to guests, Unfortunately copperworks won't be...
