Papas Pizzaland Bowmanville — Restaurant in Clarington

So I don’t usually (never) post likes or dislikes on FB. Today I have to remark on the experience I had with the folks at papa’s pizza land Bowmanville. Of course on a P.A. Day from school with my 3 kids and 7 of their friends all playing and hanging out at our house my daughter said around 1:30 “ hey dad can we get a pizza?” I thought it was a great idea and went ahead and ordered 2 large and a party pizza to feed the masses. I had a fraudulent coupon book I bought last fall from the man with the cane( who has been caught btw). I told the man on the phone I had the coupons and they were happy to accept on face value. Within 35 minutes the pizzas arrived and were super hot and fresh, the debit machine would not allow Doug the delivery driver to log in or set up. We did have a little issue with one of the pizzas and when I showed Doug the problem he took note of it and said they would make it right. Doug left without getting paid and left the pizza so we could feed the hungry kiddos and again said they would take care of it. 45 or so minutes later Doug showed back up with a free pizza for the little issue that was within the order. He also had a debit machine that was happy to take my money haha. I have not experienced customer service and great tasting pizza, like this for a very long time and it really feels good to know that a local small business cares about how they do things. Very happy with service and we have nothing but empty boxes to show for the experience. Please , when you need a pizza or 10 give these guys a try I guarantee you’ll not be...

I'm on a mission to find a good place to buy pizza from so that has brought me to "Papas Pizzaland"

Will my takeout order deliver on the dream of finding a new place to regularly buy pizza from?

I ordered through the service they use for online orders and it was easy. They had a February deal available for a large 3-topping pizza that also came with a salad. Sounds good to me.

I also threw in a couple dipping sauces and an order of lattice fries to complete my order.

The lattice fries were hot, crispy and tasty.

The salad I selected was the greek salad. It came with two small cups of salad dressing and after pouring them onto the salad and thoroughly shaking it was time for salad. Overall enjoyable salad.

Dipping sauces were also super weak. Whoever your supplier is you should consider changing.

Now onto the pizza. It's not the worst pizza but I wasn't wowed.

The flavour of the sauce was overpowering. You could really taste the oregano seasoning. I saw when I ordered online that they did have a "light on the sauce" option so I recommend selecting that if you plan on ordering.

The pizza toppings were green pepper, pickled jalapeno and pineapple on one half with sausage on the other. They were generous with each topping which works for people who like a lot of toppings on their pizza.

Now the pizza crust was just ok. It was covered in corn meal and for those that are familiar with Domino's it's just like that. Not really my thing.

Overall it was fine for a one time thing. The quest to find a great pizza...

New owners and they do not charge for debit anymore. I much prefer tipping 10 percent.

That being said.

Why does your online charge a 2 plus dollar fee to order a ten dollar pizza?

Again... the only place I've encountered that charges for this (and Jesus that's 25 percent!)

I changed the 1 to a 3 because the effort is there and the food is amazing but whoever owns this place you should allocate that money to employees not some dumb software company. Meemup is the awful company stealing yours and customers money, I checked. You should get rid of them or whoever is asking your customers to tip them instead of your employees

I would love to be able to order online. I'll always add the 10% tip too but I want it to go to the people who cooked my food not who hosts the site and I don't want to be forced into a 25% charge that doesn't even let me tip.

Why is this the only place in I've ever been to that charges near a dollar just to use debit

Pizza and staff are great but why am I paying 85 cents on a 9 dollar pizza just to use debit.

Im going to refuse the charge next time I go. They never tell you when you call.

Enjoy the free food staff if you're not allowed to waive the fee. You deserve it since Id normally tip you 10% for pizza pickup. But the owner/debit provider...
