They're always so awesome at this store. Super clean and newer, bright fluorescent lighting usually is not a fave of mine but here i like it so u can tell they're not hiding any dirtiness lol. Treats are always made right and service has always been super friendly and fast - both in store take out/dine in, mobile app and drive thru. The girls working are always patient and kind. I've never felt that I was a pain to them even when I've modified orders or given feedback or sent something back. They're knowledgeable about all of the items too and quick to answer your questions about any nutritional info, allegens, recommendations etc. Look, i know its a dairy queen and it's franchised fast food, but honestly these days its an anomaly to see friendly service with a smile, people doing above the bare minimum, clean restaurants and youth that are multitasking at their job and incredibly sweet and happy to help!
My only complaint lies with the chicken strips. Super inconsistent portion sizes although the past few weeks this seems to be rectified. Over a dozen times we had been provided a 6 piece basket and some of the strips were like a broken off bottom of the bag piece. No lie, weighed all 6 pieces on my kitchen scale and the worst order was under 2 Oz for all 6 pieces. They fluctuate btwn 1.89 Oz and under 4oz. Doesn't seem right for a 20$ order of chicken. Fries also varied in portion size and temperature. The other thing is when you order a chicken finger meal online through delivery app, it forces you to select a dip but charges u 50 cents for it. My son doesn't use dip for one, secondly it's included. To be charged for something thats supposed to be included, just to throw it away, is stupid.
The other annoying thing is the inconsistencies with pricing on mobile delivery. 7$ difference for a treatza pizza is unacceptable, 40 percent increase in prices without disclosure is not ok. It's also really shady IMO because people don't realize they're not only paying a delivery fee, a service fee, Tax on the items plus another tax on the fees, plus a tip, plus an increased menu item cost! They should really tell people that they're paying an increased cost and be upfront. The government implemented caps on delivery fees etc to help the restaurants from losing too much money on their mobile ordering systems. And then the service fee was introduced by the delivery company to recoup this. I get thats not the restaurant, but why charge the extra money for food items when the other costs of delivery, service, taxes, tip are already being dumped on the customer. The increased prices are still charged even when u use the delivery app to do a pick up order. That doesn't seem right. An order that costs 16$ in store should not cost 36$ to have delivered when the delivery is only 3$. It just seems dishonest and shady to not tell people is all.
Also, I understand a lot of restaurants are doing this now so its not just DQ, but it doesn't sit right with me. I have been petitioning the provincial government to insist that restaurants disclose the prices are increased 15 to 50 percent, but until this is mandated, restaurants should be more forthcoming. I can guarantee You that if the increased food cost was shown as a lump sum at the bottom, people would not be using this. For example, if you placed an order online that shows 16$ (in store or drive through price) and then u go to checkout and it shows a 20$ fee at the bottom bringing u to 36$, you would not pay it and instead drive in....
Read moreI wanted to bring up my experience with picking up Dairy Queen blizzards for nurses at Royal Columbian Hospital. I called the DQ by Ikea notifying them I will be making an order for 22 nurses. I asked if they still had the $1 promotion for nurses and they stated they did. I asked if I needed to bring in an ID for each nurse or if I could use my own. They asked to bring in all the ID’s or have a picture of them all. I made my order over the phone and was told my order would be ready on arrival as I was currently on shift. In 10 minutes I showed up at DQ. When I showed up I was told the deal was no longer available and I would have to pay 50% instead. I asked how this could change in the 10 minutes I spoke to him and he rudely stated this was managements choice to no longer offer the $1 blizzard. The man then stated he called my manager and told her I would no longer be getting the deal. I told him I would be calling my manager to confirm and he retracted his comment and said maybe he told the wrong person. I asked to speak to his manager and was told he was unable to get a hold of the manager now. After about 5 minutes of discussion he offered the deal. My co-worker and I waited in my car for about 40 minutes or so for the blizzards I had pre-ordered. I felt disrespected and as a front line nurse at RCH, I was expecting to be greeted in a different manner but instead I was...
Read more25MINUTES for food only to be ICE COLD!
I did a mobile order outside the door. Walked into the restaurant. No one inside except for an employee eating icecream and a couple eating icecream.
I waited.. and waited... 25 minutes later I got fed up... I go up to the counter and ask them where my order is and she says she didn't know I was there and walks to the heating area, grabs the food and hands the bag to me.. I ask her if it was sitting there the whole time and she OUTRIGHT LIES TO ME and says "No, She just made it". I KNEW she was lying because I was standing there and seen it in the heating area when she walked over to get it!!
I get to the table and the FRIES ARE ICE COLD! Then I take a piece of the burger patty and it's ICE COLD!
I go back her and she makes it again. NO APOLOGIES... NOTHING...
She was CALLING OUT to others who did mobile orders and then they left.. She NEVER called my order out. I was sitting at the table 30 seconds after placing the mobile order and waited and waited..
Not really all that important but you also DON'T put the fries UNDER a heavy double burger! The grease from the fries began to soak into the thin cardboard container for the burger.
HORRIBLE...
