Wendy's — Restaurant in Coquitlam

Let me first say that Wendy's is a great restaurant and I love the motto of "have it your way" I often get extra tomato and lettuce on my spicy chicken sandwich and there's no extra charge because of the have it your way motto. The food and service has always been quite good at most locations that I go to across greater Vancouver.

Today was interesting at the Schoolhouse Street location in Coquitlam as the service was fairly quick but a little bit curt and in my opinion a little bit cold. I thought I would mention to the attendant on my way out that it wouldn't hurt to say please and thank you and then he got all angry and stuck his head out the window and snapped at me asking if I say please and thank you. I told him that I did say please and thank you even though I'm the customer and I do say it several times when I'm ordering.

I try to be polite because I find that's how I would like to be treated as well. And I think that's a good way to act in general. I was shocked that he was so unkind to me and the manager came out and apologized to me twice. This is the only reason I'm giving this location two stars otherwise I would give it one star. I was so shocked by the experience I was hard for me to eat my food afterwards.

I know restaurants are busy and it's tough to manage things well but having a little basic positivity and kindness with your etiquette when treating your customers shouldn't be that hard to accomplish! Otherwise what's the point in working in the service industry?

I gave a 1 star review because they did not listen to what I asked for. They were too busy talking to one another in their own language instead of taking care of customers, I’m all for talking to co-workers but when you have a line up of customers waiting to order, stop the conversation take care of your customers then continue the conversation. My mom cut her finger on the salad container and it took 3 employees to understand that I need a Band-aid for my mom, but never ask if she was okay, and if there was anything they could do. My chicken strips and fries were cold, and I asked for a Coke Zero with no ice and they proceeded to fill the cup up with ice. This is not the first time I had a bad experience at this location.

If management ever see this as an ex-Wendy’s Crew Member here a few tips for you,

The Crew Member at the front counter SHOULD NOT have a headset on, there no need to have one on if you dealing with customers INSIDE the store.

When making fresh salads in the morning, lettuce should be chopped up properly and tomato’s and lettuce should be fresh.

If a customer had hurt themselves inside the store the staff should ensure the customer is okay and if they need anything to make their experience better.

When serving food it should always be hot and fresh, should not be serving expired fries or chicken strips to customers.

Have Crew Members show down and actually listen to what customers are ordering so it correct...

Worst experiences at this location. Went there tonight and ordered food on drive thru. We usually don’t get fast food but I had a bad back pain tonight so we decided to get wendy’s. We ordered spicy chicken combo, 2 jbc, 2 je cheeseburgers and a 5 piece chicken nuggets We got to the drive thru, they asked what dipping sauce we wanted and IF WE WANTED CUTLERIES!!! we asked what options we have for dips and we ordered one and we said yes to cutleries Got home, there was no chicken nuggets but we had the dipping sauce, we got 3 jbc and no jr cheeseburger ( we ordered 2) and I open the spicy chicken and there is the tiniest lettuce ever in my sandwich, and the Caesar salad was a mess!! Nothing was chopped or sliced for. The salad. We went to the store to complain and the manager had the audacity to raise her voice!!!! ( this happened on June 11 at 10:07 so whoever the manager was, needs to be given a notice) Problem is I don’t like to complain but this was not their first timw I ordered food on doordash once, ordered chilli cheese fries and a side caeser, but they decided to give me a side caeser salad instead of chilli cheese fries without communicating with me, and the messed up part is they did not give me any dressing or croutons for my salads!!!!
