Curious why this place has 4 stars when it is genuinely one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. I am not a picky eater either and I smoke a lot of grass so things generally taste good even when lower quality. The meat here is VERY underseasoned compared to any other donair/gyro place I've been to (and the socially awkward owner WILL give you an unwanted / over the top lecture on the difference between the two). It's interior is very outdated, and the place is never EVER busy and now I know why. The onions were very clearly cut many days prior and stored in a metal container, as they just tasted like bitter steel. The only redeeming qualities were the tatziki sauce and the baklava (which I showed interest in multiple times but the owner kept trying to sell me the cheesecake instead which I was clearly uninterested in). Just an overall awkward experience from the owner and the food isn't good, coming from someone who has lived in much larger cities with many MANY more shawarma places.
UPDATE: Upon the owners response, my opinion hasn't changed, nor would anyone who had the experience I had "say it to her face" as she has said in her initial response (just another example of the awkwardness, rather than taking the criticism with stride its just like any kitchen nightmares episode "my food is great everyone here loves it come say that to my face"). I recommend people who want genuinely good food and a good experience stay away from here. And if the onions aren't stored in metal then that's even more concerning why they...

Essentially what you receive are two large ātacoā style pita wraps, in parchment paper and then wrapped in tinfoil. I think the biggest overall issue here stems right from the beginning: the style of delivery. There is no āwrapā whatsoever, and all the ingredients and sauce constantly fall out of the top, front and back.
The tomatoes and beef/lamb are cut much too large and the chicken and beef/lamb were underwhelming. The chicken is particularly disappointing. When I think Greek chicken I think olive oil marinated chicken oozing with flavour, spice, and lemon. Unfortunately here we have dry, tasteless, pulled chicken.
I donāt mean to be harsh or critical but this is very disappointing food. Having moved here from Vancouver this town is missing a Shawarma place desperately but unfortunately - Yummies & Gyros doesnāt fit the bill. I recognize that this is Greek, and not Lebanese, Turkish, or Iranian, but at the end of the day, I just want a good chicken wrap. I...
Read moreThe decor is cute. As for the food, you mostly get what you pay for. It's pretty cheap, so you get the same kind of ingredients. The meats and tzatziki could both use more attention in the seasoning and flavouring department. I'd prefer if the Greek salad dressing was the classic olive oil, lemon juice and oregano with Kalamata instead of canned black olives and pre-fab Renée's dressing. $1.50 is pretty steep for a small amount of crumbled feta, I was expecting a pretty thick slice of feta for that price.
Edit: Knocked down another star for the owner's poor attitude towards an unfavourable review. Instead of wanting to address the concerns and tweak a few things, they decided to have a childish response....
