From the moment I stepped through the doors of Manvirros Indian Grill in Courtenay, I felt as though I had been transported into a warm embrace of hospitality, spice, and joy. The air itself was fragrant with a melody of cardamom, cumin, and saffron—an aromatic overture promising the magic to come.
The food here is nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish sings with balance and depth, as if every spice has been coaxed into revealing its truest, most soulful note. The curries are rich and velvety, layered with complexity yet so comforting you feel instantly at home. The butter chicken tastes like sunshine captured in a sauce, while the lamb dishes carry a quiet, noble strength, tender enough to melt with a sigh. Even the naan, fresh from the tandoor, feels like a small miracle—pillowy, slightly charred, and perfect for gathering up every last drop of sauce.
But what elevates Manvirros beyond the realm of "just another restaurant" is the staff. They are not simply servers; they are hosts in the truest, most gracious sense of the word. Their warmth is genuine, their attentiveness never overbearing, and their delight in sharing their cuisine makes you feel less like a customer and more like an honored guest.
Every visit becomes an occasion. Every meal feels like a celebration. Manvirros Indian Grill is more than a place to eat—it is a place to revel, to savor, and to remember. Courtenay is lucky to have such a treasure, and I cannot recommend it...
Read moreI haven't eaten here very often, and the few times I've ordered food it was tasty. I'm leaving a 1 star review because I ordered food for pickup and when I was eating it I found a large metal wire in my food. I wasn't poked by it, and I didn't swallow it, but if I had swallowed it I could have been seriously injured. Normally I wouldn't leave a 1star review for this, I get that accidents happen, even serious ones. But when a customer brings up foreign bodies in their food to management, the last thing I want to hear is that there isn't anything like that in the kitchen. I don't need to know that you don't know where it came from and your kitchen doesn't contain items like that. It came from your kitchen and it was in my food, it ended up in my mouth and I want to hear you will do everything possible to make sure this doesn't happen to future customers.
Sorry for the 1 star review, I wish...
Read moreI was very excited to order from here as their food is always amazing. Flavors are delicious but the size of portions for take out had us very disappointed. We spent over 200$ on take out. 5 dishes plus rice and Naan. The to go containers are probably about 28oz and the only one that was full to the top was the butter chicken. my paneer was half full and had only 8 pieces of paneer. We had to ration the food to ensure everyone got a bit of everything. This was very disappointing to me as we used to order from here alot and always got plenty to feed everyone plus have some leftovers. It's unfortunate, because of this I doubt we'll be ordering again. It's very obvious they've cut the portion sizes. I may consider going again and eating in and hope the portions are bigger. But not sure when that would ever happen as we do take out every Friday...
