Pür & Simple — Restaurant in Dartmouth

We had been hearing a lot about this place so decided to stop in for breakfast. There was a 15 minute wait, but they took our cell number and offered to text us when our table was ready - which was in less than 5 minutes. I wish more places understood the "under promise over deliver" approach to customer service. The design and layout of the restaurant is beautiful - I am a big fan of open kitchens. It just introduces a whole new level of accountability. The energy in this place was also awesome - our server was excellent; friendly and attentive. On our way out, every single team member say goodbye and wished us a good day. It's the little things sometimes. The menu is large enough to have excellent variety, but not so big it's overwhelming. I still had an extremely difficult time deciding what to have. My husband started with a flat white and a cup of coffee - he is still going on about how good the flat white was. Born and raised in England, he really misses proper coffee. A couple of things - if you are looking for a quiet, inexpensive place to eat - this is not the place for you. the energy and buzz is quite social, and while the prices are more expensive than most, the quality of food and service are worth every. single. cent. We decided on Avocado Bacon (avocado toast with bacon, soft boiled eggs, fresh chopped tomatoes and snow pea sprouts served with breakfast potatoes) and the Xtreme (French toast with bananas, strawberries and Nutella, served with toast, two eggs, bacon and their breakfast potatoes). Guys - the food was unbelievable. I have a strong aversion to potatoes and these were the best I've ever had. Super crispy and flavourful on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The French toast was excellent - not at all soggy and there was a fair bit of fruit. My husband's avocado toast looked amazing and his eggs were perfect. Our bill, with tip, was just around $60 but again, food and service was excellent. My husband said it's the best breakfast he's had here in Nova Scotia. Highly recommend...

Okay! So there is a bit of a wait. Today, we had to wait 15 minutes. No big deal. They just text you when they have a table for you & you text back a 2 for on my way or 3 for cancel or something like that. Don't be a dummy like me & text back the wrong number & get yourself canceled. Frig. Just. Never. Cancel. We were right next door though & ran back & explained we (I) made a mistake & were immediately seated. They were so understanding!

And you just know it's gonna be good food when EVERY time you go there it's packed!

This visit was no different. Like I said, 15 minutes wait. No biggie. Kim was our waitress. She's amazing & helpful. Lots of suggestions & answers to our questions. She even took a second to ask if anyone had any food allergies they should be aware of!

I had a caramel cappuccino, perfect. I ordered the Cinna-Bacon. Lord, have mercy! It's sweet & salty & cheesy. And impossible to eat without getting sticky hands... but who cares. And it comes with the P&S famous potatoes. I don't even love potatoes & I can't get enough of them.

Parking was good at 11am-ish. Tiny wait but lots of shops nearby to kill the time. The restaurant is clean. Nice washrooms. Great wait-staff. Delicious food. Good price. Huge portions.

I don't know where to begin! Pur and simple is such a friendly, upbeat, chic breakfast/ lunch staple in my life. The food is phenomenal, the atmosphere is down to earth, yet a little upbeat, and it's just all around comfortable. I can't get enough of their food. The menu has currently changed, and I was not disappointed with the Kimchi Eggs Benedict. They poached eggs were done perfectly and everything was balanced in its presentation and taste. I couldn't even finish all my entite meal because there was so much food. In an economy like we live in today, I was very impressed with the new menu and how affordable it was. Our server, Kim, was phenomenal. I have never smiled so much. She was sweet, informative, kind and she is the best server I have had in a very long time. I would recommend this place with a 5 star rating to anyone who loves breakfast/brunch restaurants. You won't be disappointed, especially if you have Kim's your server. I had such a nice meal today.
