My experience was only ok, here’s why. I brought my son with me he’s 8 months old and requires a high chair for his lunch. The highchairs there are certainly not for infants, maybe a toddler would find it safe, which I’m not even sure of that. I had to hold him with one hand the entire time while I tried to eat. The seat didn’t have the option to tighten any further than it already was and there is no between leg bar. Just a very loose buckle. He was easily able to wiggle his legs out of the buckle it had. I understand I’m a small portion of the guests but I feel it’s a simple fix, I’ve been to many other restaurants, this has never been a problem.
I did end up spilling my soup on myself accidentally and the staff handled it wonderfully. I got a fresh soup and they helped me clean the mess, but I think it would have been avoided had I not of been trying to support my son in the highchair, so he didn’t fall out. Which if he had of, this could be a bigger issue!! I won’t be able to return for some time now because him and I cannot enjoy our meals.
I will say the staff was great, food was wonderful and presentation was perfect. Wish I could come...
Read moreThe food, like the decor in this restaurant, are on point! One of the most authentic Japanese restaurants in Halifax that has not been too westernized with cream cheese and avocado (though these items are still on the menu for those who enjoy them). For example we ordered the soft shell crab which in many sushi restaurants would be served in a roll with avocado and cucumber with some form of mayonnaise dressing, but in Sushi Nami they served the entire crab and it was DELICIOUS. Their Nigiri was excellent and the fish tasted fresh and was well cut. The sushi rice was cooked perfectly with the subtle hints of rice vinegar and sugar making a perfect balance with the fish and prepared to just the right pressure to keep it together during dining. The rolls were also well done and not filled with too much rice. Not the best sushi I have ever had but very good in comparison to all the sushi restaurant we have been to in Halifax and the East Coast thus far. Service was excellent and the restaurant...
Read moreWe Were in Dartmouth crossing and thought we would give Sushi Nami Royal a try for lunch.
The food was tasty and fresh. The service was fantastic and I would like to thank Han for a job well done. He made sure we were looked after and was very personable with a positive attitude.
To start we ordered Goyza (Japanese pan fried dumplings) to start. I ordered the Gianto Maki Combo which was tasty. My wife ordered the Beef Bento Box and my daughter ordered the Sushi Nami Deluxe Combo. For desert we ordered an order of Mango cheesecake to share.
Overall the food was very fresh and tasty and the service was second to none. The one area of opportunity that I would like to mention is the sushi could have been rolled better as some of our rolls were loose and falling apart. I would rate a 4.5/5 only because of the loose sushi but will round up to 5. I will return back because of the great service and tasty food and will update my review if it...
