Review for KFC at 101 8737 - 120 Street, Delta, BC
I had a highly disappointing experience at this KFC location on December 31, 2024. I placed an order (#38452) through the KFC app, which was accepted with a pickup time of 10:16 PM. Upon arrival, I found the doors locked and observed staff preparing to close. After knocking, an employee informed me to collect my order via the drive-thru. However, after waiting there for 10 minutes without service, I returned to the front door. The same employee then claimed the store had closed at 9:30 PM due to New Year's Eve and that they hadn't received my order, advising me to return the next day.
I requested a refund, but was told it couldn't be processed at that time and to come back the following day. When I asked for verification of the order denial, I was directed to call the store number provided in the app. Upon calling, the staff member attempted to explain app usage, demonstrating a lack of understanding of the app's functionality. Despite my insistence on a refund, I was told the manager would contact me the next day, and when I asked for the employee's name, I was told it was against KFC policy to disclose names—a claim that seems dubious, especially since staff typically wear name badges.
I provided my contact information but received no follow-up. And thats the reason i have to post a review. Read moreAbsolutely brutal!!!. I stopped going to KFC because of this franchise. Years of garbage food. I don’t eat fried chicken often. Every order from this restaurant is a joke. Unfriendly staff that take advantage of you. Unfortunately, I keep trying to give them a second chance. Sometimes you want salty fried chicken. However, this time I’m done. The last time I ordered from this restaurant I paid extra so I wouldn’t receive any brown meat. When I got home, I had 10 thighs and 5 drumsticks. Which made me angry since I paid extra. When I called to complain they basically said there is nothing they could do.
My order last night was disgusting. First the fries were good, nice, and hot. I ordered 2 6-piece buckets (BOGO) I opened the bucket and the first thing I noticed was the chicken was soggy. So, I pulled it out of the bucket. Every piece was soggy all 12 and at the bottom of the bucket there was about a half inch of oil. I had to pour it out. Of the 12 pieces I received 9 of them were thighs and 3 were drumsticks. No wonder so many KFC are closing. Tring to get what you want is like pulling teeth. Read moreThe staff is great but they aren't always at the front so you often have to wait but that's a management choice. Honestly I was going to leave a poor review for not being greeted, being made to wait even when the restaurant had no new orders in person or in person pickups for online orders (though there were drive through customers). I must have waited ten minutes before trying to get someone's attention as the app said they were working on it.
All in all the "save time and download our app" was not good marketing. I think this is likely in part due to poor app functionality or perhaps poor familiarity of the staff with the app. Since the staff are so polite and the app is reviewed so poorly, I'm inclined to believe the former.
The hero of the day is Simar who was genuine and kind and without being asked included an extra tender for the excessive wait. Anticipating a client need like that for someone who wasn't angry or behaving in a visibly upset way was above and beyond. Definitely rescued an otherwise 1 star existence. If I were just reviewing Simar, it would be a 5 star review for sure.
