Came here for Dine Out Vancouver. They turned their ballroom into a dining room, where the tables were well spaced out. Alex our server was amazing, attentive & friendly! We ordered the following:
Moscow Mule & Dublin Waffle - the Moscow Mule had a nice flavour of ginger in the backend while the Dublin Waffle was smooth & creamy with a nice kick of cold brew.
Smoked Salmon Cake - there were two salmon cakes with a bit of greens. This was a well flavoured dish.
Tuscan Salad - I loved this salad as it had so many complimentary components from the goat cheese to pickled beets, granny smith apples & candied pumpkin seeds. I'm not a salad person but this is one salad I'd definitely eat again.
Maple Glazed Beef Short Rib - talk about fork tender. The short rib practically melted in your mouth. The mashed potatoes & butternut squash puree were both so creamy.
Crab & Shrimp Stuffed Dover Sole - there was a lot of delicious crab & shrimp stuffing in a surprisingly small piece of sole. The Lyonnaise potatoes had a nice crust on the outside & creamy on the inside.
Butter Tart Cheesecake - the cheesecake was rich & creamy & the pecans added a nice contrast in texture.
Trio of Cannoli Profiteroles - this was also a delicious dessert, but the espresso caramel popcorn, while great on its own, didn't really go with the profiteroles.
So after the wonderful food & service why did I not give it 5 stars? Unfortunately they DO NOT take COVID-19 protocols seriously. We saw a couple who was leaving stop at another table to talk to a party of 4. Not one employee said one word to them. This continued for about 5-10 mins undisturbed until the couple left. Then about 20 mins before we were about to leave a party of 3 suddenly turned into a party of 6 & they went from one table to another. Again no one said a word. In fact their server helped them move from one table to the next. We saw the manager scan the room at one point, but he didn't seem concerned either. On the way out I mentioned this to the hostess & while she was apologetic she was in & out of that room all evening as well & didn't say anything either. So I guess this is the norm...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal patron of Pat Quinn's for quite some time now, having visited five times due to their excellent food and great atmosphere. I even celebrated my birthday dinner party here, which was a fantastic experience. Unfortunately, my recent visit was far from pleasant.
From the moment we were seated, our server, Hxxxxa, was nowhere to be found. We had to wait until we had finished reading the entire menu and were ready to order before I had to grab another server to find her. When she finally arrived, she didn’t even introduce herself or greet us. She quickly poured our first courtesy glass of water and was ready to leave. I had to stop her to place our order.
I ordered a starter and a main course to share with my wife. The order was simple, but her sarcastic response, “Is that it?” and “How about some drinks other than those plain water?” was uncalled for. I initially thought she was trying to be funny, but it quickly became clear that wasn’t the case.
The starter arrived about 10 minutes later, and while the food was great, she never asked if we needed any pepper, salt, or anything else. After finishing the starter, we waited and waited, but she never returned. Meanwhile, the table next to us, a family of six who arrived after us, was already enjoying their meal with their attentive and cheerful server.
After 30 minutes of waiting, I lost my patience and asked another helper to find our server and our main course. She returned with our order, but her attitude was unacceptable. She claimed they were very busy and that we had to wait because we had our starter. However, the dining room only had four occupied tables.
Her unprofessional attitude, tone of voice, and body language were disappointing. My wife and I decided to leave, having our untouched meal boxed. As we exited, I asked for her name, and she told me it was Hxxxxa. A gentleman greeted us on our way out and informed us that our bill was taken care of.
While I appreciate the gesture, the experience left a sour taste in my mouth. I hope the management addresses this issue to ensure that other patrons do not have a...

So I’ve heard nothing but great things about this place, and yes the dining atmosphere and surrounding area is beautiful, but the food quality was surprisingly not that amazing…
Ahi Tuna Poke $18.50 Edamame, Mango, Cucumbers, Togarashi, Scallions, Sesame Seeds, Ponzu, Japanese Mayo, Tortilla Chips GF. A very underwhelming dish. Too much other stuff and not enough tuna. Also the overall taste was just meh. The Cactus Club Tuna stack is about 10x better than this! Will never get this again. 5.5/10
Beef Dip $21 Swiss Cheese, Onion Rings, Arugula, Horseradish Aioli, Au Jus, Ciabatta Bun. This one was decent, had good taste, au jus was very flavourful, but there wasn’t anything stand out about it. The bread could have been buttered and pan fried, there could have been more meat, the meat could have been less dry, there could have been more aioli, etc to make it better, but the didn’t! 7.5/10
Cabernet Braised Short Rib $32 Mashed Potatoes, Seasonal Vegetables, Red Wine Demi GF. The mash was very creamy and excellent. Veggies were done perfectly. The meat itself was great, however I’ve had better (once that were more juicy and tender). The only negative thing is that the sauce was a bit too salty. My friend and I noticed it right away. Again, this was a good dish, but it wasn’t amazing. I think the sauce could get re-worked to really give it that punch. 8/10
Unfortunately for a restaurant like this, I would MUCH prefer to goto a Cactus Club or something similar. The dining atmosphere and surrounding area is beautiful, so you could come just for that and have some drinks! The food quality is good, but nothing amazing. Would I come back?...
