Owner/manager seems more intent on profit than customer satisfaction. For example, he refuses to stamp the customer loyalty card for each entree (as stated clearly on the card) but rather one stamp per visit regardless of how many meals in the order (I order two meals - one for me and one for my partner). It's a detail but out of step with other locations and my complaint is on principle alone (which he refused to listen to). He stated "The you could come in here and order six meals at once and the seventh would be free!" Duh! - yes, that's the whole point of the loyalty card! - this guy is dumb as a stump. I ordered a large lemongrass chicken pho but a female staffer brought out a small one. I said "I asked for a large one" so the manager instructed her to take it back to the kitchen for a large - and she balked at this but then reluctantly did so anyways (weird that she was resistant to this!). When she returned with a large, I swear they just added more broth as the bowl only had one medium sized piece of chicken and was mostly broth. When I asked the manger about this, he said "our pieces of chicken are large!". I said "I've had this pho a gazillion times at other locations and there are ALWAYS two pieces of chicken in there". He begrudgingly ordered his inept and clueless female staffer to put a piece of chicken on a place which she reluctantly handed to me. Very poor customer service and I will never go back to this location again - the owner and staff are not even remotely customer-service focused. Never had any problem at the other Vina locations across Metro-Vancouver - check those...
Read more2 stars for food and 0 for service. We have eaten here a few times when they first opened. The portion size was decent and the food was average. I happened to be at the mall twice in a a row recently and was craving lemon grass chicken. The first time, as I approached the place, the lady at the front was busy doing something, she saw me but didn't bother acknowledge me and continued to do her thing at the other end. After about a minute, I had lost patience and was just about to leave, and she came over to the ordering side and just stood there. Still no acknowledgment. I said hi and proceeded to place my order and the lady just stared at me. I thought perhaps she didn't hear me, so I repeated my order. She just looked at me and said "No". Not understanding what the no meant, Im looking for some details, she just walked away. What a bizarre experience. Lol The following day, we ended up ordering the lemongrass chicken meal. This time it was served by the tall guy who I've seen there since day 1. He was nice enough but the food was really bad. The noodles were overcooked and soggy. The chicken barely warm (instead of keeping directly on the warmer, the chicken was in a bowl on top of the warmer - this is also a food safety issue). Thoroughly disappointed by this location. Will definitely not...
Read moreI do enjoy the food at Vinas and at this location in Tsawwassen. Just takes one lazy employee to ruin my experience. I see no one at counter as I approach. To my surprise, she's sitting, out of view. She stands there like she's bored. We order our meal. The way she (no name tag) prepares the food like her attitude. Slides us the food, my mother asked where is the dressing you pour on the salad and noodles. Didn't even say a word and just points to the prefilled mini cups. Then my mother noticed no green nn onions and asked. Server seemed anoid we asked and scrapes what's left in the container. I had to then say something... "at least...
