On Thursday may 24th, I had the worst experience ever. Was a party of 5 n two of those were my 70 year old aunts. I am new to Huntsville and went there as my daughter and her boyfriend were earlier patrons and spent approximately 80$. Anyhow I actually had the police called on me, unnecessarily of course. The bartender let it become personal and it showed her lack of professionalism and knowledge regarding smart serve which she bylaw has to abide by. She failed miserably. Cut me off, which was fine but would not serve the rest of party n demaded we leave premises ASAP. Let her know we had money in pool table n when we were finished we were leaving. We weren't looking for what we received. She said can't call my bluff I'm calling the police. At this point our evening is ruined the officer was kind enough to bid me a goodnight n could tell I was nowhere near intoxicated. While this was happening bartender continues to serve her staggering regulars. Wow I have never and will never go back. My suggestion if your female do not enter. As bar rescue Jon tafferty says if you have woman in the bar the men will come the money will come. sorry my family spent over &150 at this establishment on that day. Only men were in the bar and she made sure she got rid of us lol the unprofessionalism went out the window along with smart serves rules n regulations. Thumbs down for this place I suggest young or old do not go through those doors if your looking to have a little fun or e treated respectfully. Dan I would love to discuss this further. You can contact me directly. From a not very happy first time (and last) patron Suzanne. Furthermore to the response of owner I know what you look like and you were not there! Imagine an owner of an establishment letting this go on n not try to diffuse or intervene. I left the premises on my own accord no police escort. Yes there were drunker patrons than myself whom still got served, yes I pointed this out, the police were.baffled oas to why they were called as was I. I guess if the owner is a liar sets tone for staff. My hope is your staff get their smart serve Guideline n rules better understood. Furthermore Ian contacting my lawyer as writing u truth statements to a 3 Rd party is called defamation of character. No relaxants were taken what was said was smart serve guidelines require waitress bartender staff to inquire if someone is on medication also are to offer food and water to a patron whom seems drunk, that's what people might have overheard. I contacting liquor control board on your establishment with regards to your staff n if they even have smart serve. as well if there is video please forward to my lawyer Robert Valentine. You are wrong your staff was wrong n furthermore I have heard from police this is not the first time they have called on female patrons. As I mentioned male patrons whom are staggering to n from washroom still got served????????? Skip this place if you wanna have fun but if you wanna go to jail bartender has em on speed dial. Skip this place...
Read moreVery disappointed with this place. I made a reservation for 11 people with a very nice woman telling her that I understand the chances of being in separate social distanced tables due to covid regulations. The following day I made a follow up call to request for dine in service instead of patio. The man who picked up this call had a RUDE tone and was very hesitant to allow us to dine at the restaurant claiming that he "doesn't want us to walk back and forth between tables" and that "the girl who made your reservation shouldn't have allowed it" despite my reminder that we practice covid-19 social distancing regulations and that if needed to be separated, we understand and don't mind. He reluctantly agreed to let us dine with them and said they'll just figure it out. When we showed up, this same man (who seems to be the owner of the restaurant) was at the door and told my friend to throw out his cup of water. My friend asked if he can throw out the cup of water in a trash bin inside of the restaurant, and he RUDELY told him to just get rid of it outside. Afterwards, my dad was smoking about 9 metres away from the entrance (government regulation) and he asked for him to move away even further ANGRILY, despite seeing others smoke only 6 feet away from the entrance. I don't know if this was because we're asian. It seemed like he was treating white customers with exempt from the covid rules he enforced on us . Thank god his table servers were very kind. That's who I gave 2 stars for. If it weren't for them I'd give 0 stars. The food is mediocre. Don't get the ribs. You'll end up buying bones smothered in sauce.
I understand that this is a very difficult time for businesses and that rules and regulations must be practiced to maintain the health and safety of customers/employees, but this is NOT merely close enough of a good reason to treat your customers horribly. I will not be recommending this place to anyone who stops by Huntsville. There are many other restaurants willing to give great welcoming atmospheres.
If the owner is reading this: fix...
Read moreAn old story, but one worth telling. I lived in Toronto for 3 months in the summer of 2000, and decided to trek up to Huntsville on my own to get away from the city. A boy from Ireland, I was only 19 and unfamiliar with my surroundings. The first night was pretty dull and I don’t recall doing much. Maybe stayed in my motel. The second night was the eve of my birthday and I needed to do something. I plucked up the courage to go over the street to Moose Delaney’s to grab a beer and hopefully chat to some people. There was a game on the TV and I settled on a stool at the bar. Started chatting with the barman. A warm guy, full of his stories and eager to hear my own. At one point I let slip it was my birthday, he wished me a happy birthday, and the chat moved on to other stuff. Some other young locals started to chat with us. Some pool was played, more beers were had, and classic one-night bonds were being formed. A couple more hours went by. Suddenly, out of nowhere the barman appears with a cake. A cake with candles. For me! “Happy birthday” rung out. We were tipsy, there was maybe only 10 people in the bar, and I knew I’d never see these people again, but man this was a gesture that has stayed with me since. This was my first birthday away from home, I was halfway across the world, and these strangers welcomed me in like this. What a gesture, what a town, what a country. It’s stayed with me ever since. Postscript: We drank some more, we all went back to a house party, they let me crash on the couch, fed me in the morning, and drove me to the bus stop the next day. Great times. Long story short: Moose Delaney’s, those people and that night will stay with...
