Joyce's Deli — Restaurant in District of North Vancouver

I was down the street finishing up some recycling at the depot and suddenly noticed a small group of local workers queued up at this hole in the wall. And when I say hole in the wall, it's the cutest little shop I've seen on the north shore. I glanced at their sandwiches and one of them could tell I was hesitant and suggested I order the cheesesteak. The Japanese woman was super friendly and I could tell this was going to be better than average. Well, the sandwich was delicious. Probably the best melted cheese sandwich I've had in North Vancouver. As for overall sandwiches on the north shore, I'd rank this place just behind Dip Co. in Deep Cove and tied for second with Puccini's on Lonsdale (or slightly ahead of Puccini's if you include quality of service). I'll be going back this week for the chicken pesto sandwich and then eventually try their small selection of Japanese food which I hear is great, too. I'm so glad I stumbled onto...

Not sure what has happened here but I’ve been quite disappointed with the food in the last few months. My usual has always been a tuna sandwich on a Kaiser and it was always great. But now it has become very inconsistent - from so much mayo you can’t taste the tuna…..to dripping wet causing a soggy bun…to the tuna falling out of the bun into the bag causing it to then fall out of the bag onto the ground…to some tuna plunked onto the bun with no mayo at all. Today I decided to try the Japanese curry. Flavour was good but I was completely turned off by fried wiener pieces as the meat. They were disgusting with a kind of fake feel. I ended up picking them all out which left me with the curry sauce and rice for $16 The staff are very nice and friendly but I don’t think I will be buying any more lunches there. ...

Super thankful for Joyce's deli as it's next door to my work in more of a industrial area with few non fast food options available. She is open early enough I can get a breakfast sandwich before hitting the road for my work day. Always greated with a smile such a friendly vibe, I highly recommend it our whole shop loves the food here the breakfast sandwich and western are top notch breakfast options also have a great lunch menu with also a few Japanese options as well.
