KhanJee Restaurant — Restaurant in Dollard-des-Ormeaux

The only reason I'm giving this restaurant a 1 star review is because the atmosphere of it was attractive, but as for the service... HORRIBLE. I have never been this disappointed in a restaurant in my entire life. The food was not horrible, but it was edible. It was somewhat authentic Pakistani food, but the portions were so small even though we were told "Each dish is enough for two people". Maybe 2 children. After arriving at the restaurant, we only got our food after TWO HOURS. And even when the food did come, they had forgotten some of our orders, mistakenly brought the wrong ones and never bothered to make sure that we had gotten our food correctly.

Apart from the food quality, the service was some of the worst service I have ever experienced. I understand that they had just opened up, but this is no way for a business to run without proper training. The staff were so ignorant about what was going on in their own restaurant. When I asked to order, they said they would get back to me and never did until I had to call them again after 15-20 minutes. Once we got their attention (FNALLY), it took about 15 minutes to get the order because they didn't understand what was even on the menu, after speaking to them in English and Urdu. On top of that, they were saying how some things on the menu were unavailable as well?? How can a Restaurant be opened within that week and not have something on their menu already? The waiters would just watch us and not actually check up on our food, and we needed to ask them MULTIPLE times when the food was coming, and even then, they didn't have a clue on what was going on with our order. The food was definitely not worth the price in my opinion.

Finally when this nightmare was over, we entered a new one when we went to pay for the bill. The man doing the bill didn't know any of the prices for the food, and I took about 30 seconds to add everything up on the menu that we had ordered (minus the ones we didn't even get, which was about 3 items), and that still took him long to process. He also gave the wrong prices for some of the food that was clearly marked on the menu. I don't understand how staff can be so undertrained as soon as a restaurant opens up. The worst part is that they did no apologize once for the inconvenience they caused my family and I. I'm not even asking for financial compensation, but at least a "Sorry for the service, we will try our best to do better next time". Nothing.

I will definitely not be coming back here, and I will make sure that anyone who talks about this place know about the disappointing experience I had. Other than the looks of the restaurant, this place has no class and definitely needs to do some revamping before...

The Iftar buffet spread was absolutely impressive, offering a wide variety of dishes that catered to every taste. Some highlights included: ✔ Perfectly spiced biryani with fragrant rice and tender meat. ✔ Deliciously crispy samosas and pakoras that were freshly fried and full of flavor. ✔ Mouthwatering grilled kebabs—juicy, tender, and seasoned to perfection. ✔ A fantastic selection of traditional curries that were rich and flavorful. ✔ Refreshing drinks and desserts, including creamy kheer and fresh fruit.

Everything was cooked to perfection, served fresh, and replenished frequently so that guests never had to wait for refills.

She was incredibly professional, attentive, and friendly, ensuring that our table was always taken care of. She checked in frequently to see if we needed anything, provided great recommendations, and handled every request with a genuine smile and warm hospitality. Her exceptional service truly stood out, and I highly recommend requesting her section if you visit!
