Tiagos Portugais — Restaurant in Dollard-des-Ormeaux

I was surprised when I walked into the restaurant to find out that the ownership had changed hands. We are a social, foodie group. I was there last time 1 1/2 yrs ago and loved the food and the service and attended with a large group that filled in most of the restaurant. I was with a large group again and was not as satisfied as the last time around.

Personally my plate was good. We had two tables of 10. I asked for them to take the orders of one table since it was full at one point and waited for the second table to fill out a little more and gave the order to take the orders of the second table.

These are the comments of my members "I thought the service was sub-par, to be honest." " Poor services. Furthermore the meal size was slimmer too" "I found it funny though, I arrived late, last one to order and gets it within 5 minutes before everybody else, wilted salad an all"

Furthermore, we asked for more bread and never received it, they only served Coffee, did not have Cream for the Coffee only milk. They did not serve any kind of tea. I asked for a cup of boiled water and a slice of lemon, literally had to wait for the water to boil!

I personally loved their French Fries, they were nicely seasoned and real potatoes not the frozen kind, and the Piri Piri sauce was great too!

If an institute cannot provide for a large group, I as an organizer do understand and...

The chicken was amazing. It was flavourful and juicy. The skin was crispy and the meat was tender. Everything about the chicken was delightful and enjoyable. However, the delivery arrived in paper bad. Nothing but paper bags. So I was a bit disappointed when all the juices and sauces were leaking from the bottom of my bags. The side dishes fall a bit short in comparison. The fries are decent and tastes good but a bit soggy. That might be the result of deliveries however, so I can't blame them. The rice was a bit too dry and bland. A big contrast to the chicken and fries which was surprising but it could be intentional to balance out the meal. The salad finally had raw onions which is just something I personally don't like. The overall was still superb and I enjoyed the meal. The portions are great. For only 40$, it comes with big boxes of salad and rice along with a massive bag of fries. The Natas were also delicious. The creamy and smooth custard goes so well with the flaky pastry. I hope the owner of Tiagos looks at the reviews and does something to improve the client experience . The food is generally really good which is why we keep coming back. However the last 3 times ( and today being the worst of all times ) we ordered our food at 5:30pm( and sat down to eat ) … my husband’s sandwich came at 6:30pm and my quarter leg came at 6:45pm and was overdone . As we were eating new clients were not able to place orders as they had run out of chicken . I mean it’s Sunday evening… a weekend … people eat out …. And by 6:45pm to have already run out of chicken is not very impressive . The average wait time here is 45mins … for rotisserie chicken !!! I don’t know what the solution is but a lot of customers were getting frustrated… an improvement in the wait time while respecting food...
