The Food was very nice but I will never go again to this place for another reason. what we ordered for main menu
Tandori Chicken chicken Masala Lamb/Beef Kabab (x2) Chicken Tikka Anarkali chicken
To start we were given the menu, once we decided what we want, we had a hard time getting attention even though everybody working was passing by, some in uniform and some not.
we ordered 6 dishes. They didn't have chicken kabab. Everything was good except for anarkali chicken which wasn't properly cooked and raas malai which was harder than usual. Anarkali Chicken came in late as well while everything else came in together.
Once we started eating, again it was hard tracking someone down for more chutni which they gave in small quantity and for more naans. we had to ask twice for the pop's as well.
While we were there for one hour no one came to ask how was eveything and if we needed anything. Water Jug half empty as well.
We complained about raas malai and the server mentioned that we wouldn't be charged for it. Once we ate and ready to pay the bill. we went and stand in the line. we were third in the line. There was no place to stand since the door to the kitchen was behind the counter so we had to stand in the way and had to move back and forth many times.
All this I didn't like but this is not the reason for my post. The reason actually is I had $132 in bill and I gave the tip of $3. I don't believe in tipping for such a bad service. The owner was actually standing in place of cashier and he ridiculed me. My reply to him was that he should apologize, which he did which he did in non apologetic manner and looking at receipt afterwards I realize that they charged us for Raas Malai as well.
Before this I never had such a bad experience in a restaurant. This left a very bad taste in my mouth.
Overall Food: Excellent (Except for Raas Malai and Anarkali Chicken) Customer Service: Extremely Poor Arrangement: Poor
The Above Review is 5 Years ago for Tandori Et Grill, It's now Haveli, The Administration has since been changed. I have been there few times more and the above was I believe one...
Read moreEdit: This place has gotten many fines for being unsanitary. Visit the Quebec govt site MAPAQ and search "condamnations des établissements alimentaires" then click "Afficher la liste" and then search Tandoor et Grille. Think twice before eating here.
Original review: Placed an online order, picked up, noticed 2 items missing, called them up to see what can be done. The nice woman I spoke to offered to provide 2 additional items to compensate the missed items. All I had to do was place an order on Uber for 1 item. She said the entire order would be compensated. Order placed, call the restaurant up to confirm that we're all good.
I end up reaching the manager or owner who at first doesn't want to honour the agreement for the extra items. So now it's the one item ordered on Uber and the initial 2 forgotten ones. Fine, I just wanted the missing items to begin with so no biggie. As soon as I bring up the Uber reimbursement as per his employee, the guy goes from unpleasant to insanely rude. He gets mad and starts repeating "I never said anything would be covered!".Then drops the funniest line of "You're such a small person to be fussing over a few dollars. You are nobody, etc etc etc..."
Honestly, I don't care about the fact that I was getting charged. I would've paid it but he got rude and it turned into a matter of principle for me. MJ meme, I took that personally. Told him he's going to lose customers the way he's rude and doesn't honour agreements when the mistake was theirs to begin with. His reply was he doesn't care if I don't come back as his place so good and losing one customer makes no difference. He apparently has the best kheer in his opinion (other reviews would disagree).
Anyway say less, I cancelled the extra order and gave away the food as it no longer had any appeal. Was told it...
Read moreI have no clue why people complain on price , quality or service . I have been here a few times and always during reviews poke the pros and cons . Service : well attended and fast however please note that there is a difference between fine dining and fast food. What we expect is quality in nick of time which is impossible in case of Indian food anywhere in the world if you expect good quality. We are always attended in 10 to 15 minutes . People are pleasant however due to the rush the employees cannot spend time chit chatting as they need to feed people. Quality : take time to read the menu and ask questions before just ordering something that says lamb , chicken ,fish or vegetarian. Price vs quantity : comparing to any other quality and quantity for the price , Indian food is the most generous . We always order 2 dishes for 3 people unless you have above average appetite ..lol I have always left feeling happy and satisfied dining at tandoori grill and can say by far this is the best restaurant for Indo Pakistan food. Some of the dishes by nature have to be cooked with butter and oil hence ask before ordering or know the food instead of blaming it's too oil , not cooked it too spicy . I have been to almost 80 percent of the Indian restaurants in Montreal and love this the most. I always take my friends and guest to this one because it's a safe bet . No one is perfect but these people try their best and I love their food so I would recommend this to anyone wishing to try authentic Indian food. Thank you tandoori grill :) Try their sizzler mix , Malai chicken and lamb balti. Paneer pakoda is a must , creamy and delicious .. looks like I am ready to make another weekend trip as just writing this makes my salivary glands...
