I ordered via Door Dash. This food was excellent. Not greasy and not over cooked. It was fresh homecooked food. We found whole cardamom in the biryani (excellent). Chicken Tikka was well marinated and cooked to perfection. Accompanying sauces were fresh, tasty and flavours were not hidden by an over reliance on garlic to mask less than fresh produce for rice, poultry and sauces (we ordered chicken). Really nice Naan. A welcome addition to the Duncan food scene. Look forward to visiting the bistro on site.

We were visiting Duncan for the first time, this was one of the places that was still open, everything was mostly closed. The food was outstanding, it was delicious. The food portion was perfect for sharing. We got the garlic naans and tandoori rotis with bhindi and Shani paneer. I would definitely recommend this place if you're really feeling Indian food, or wanting comfort food. The service was so polite and welcoming, the wait didn't take long. The food was fresh and hot.

OK … this food is next level. The naan is soft and delicious. And the biryani was amazing with soft very chewable goat meat. And the butter chicken was very flavourful and not cloying as some can be. And the nice touch was the plates were served hot - literally so when your steaming fare came to the table you served yourself onto your own already heated dinner plate. I loved that! You gotta go. The best in the Cowichan Valley hands down.

From the moment I stepped into ROYAL BISTRO .I knew it was going to be a memorable dining experience. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with soft lighting that creates the perfect setting for a relaxed evening out.

The service was impeccable—attentive without being intrusive. Our server, was knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations.

As for the food, every dish was a masterpiece. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh.

I also loved the drinks menu—mango shake was a delightful surprise, with a unique twist that complemented the meal beautifully.

Overall, Royal bistro offers an exceptional dining experience with top-tier service, outstanding food, and a cozy atmosphere. It’s clear that the chefs here take great pride in their craft, and I can’t wait to return. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a...

I visited with my sister for a late lunch this week, and we were very pleased with the meal. We shared several smaller items: the Gol Gappe - excellent and fun to eat , the Samosa with Chana (samosa chaat) - spiced beautifully, and the Chicken Naan with gravy - good, but I would have preferred a garlic naan, as the chicken filling didn’t add much to it.

The staff were knowledgeable and helpful about the menu items, and they seemed very eager to please. The interior is fairly sparsely decorated at the moment, but they have only recently opened, and that holds less importance than the quality of the food.

Would I return? Yes! Will definitely order the Gol gappe and Samosa with Chana again, and would like to try more of the appetizers, snacks, and...
