Went there on June the 2nd,2021 at 4: 18 pm. Had the worst experience with an A&W franchise ever. I palced an order for a papa burger combo with root beer. Its been my regular across the locations. While I was waiting for my order I noticed lady serving me is cross contaminating between touching the change at the cash and passing it to drive through customers, not washing her hands and touching food from the back and packing the order. She didnt wash her hand the entire time that I was there. She served total of 5 customer between drive through and front. I was there for the total of 15-17 min. I was handed the drink and to my surprise no ice in my fountain drink. Its odd not have ice in fountain drink. Being a customer of multiple franchise restaurants, I understand the ice machine might be not working at the time. I respect that! I kindly asked if I can have a few ice in my cup. She replyed; "we dont have ice" She didnt inform prior to order or didnt say anything if the ice machine is broken etc. I asked for a bottle drink from the fridge, she said the fridge is empty and all bottle root beers are pack of 4 and room temperature. I said; " can I have the drink refunded please" She said, " sure, there is no need to be rude about it". She put a looney on the counter. I asked how am I being rude!? She didnt reply. I have never had such a unprofessional and improper service at any A&W, PERIOD. I rarely write a review on google. I am just hoping an store owner or an inspector might be reading this and check the camera and properly train the staff of health and safety involve with a restaurant. The staff need to be trained for a better customer service. Its acceptable in Canada that a fountain drink is served with ice, unless asked otherwise. The staff shoud inform customers of not having ice prior to charging customers. Please write a review if you see staff not washing their hands after touching bills, change, head set, etc and touch food. It a crazy time and Covid 19 is every where. Please report to health department of your area if you have similar incidents in this location. More people call officials more awareness and better training and hopefully cleaner, safer food to eat for us. I do apologize the store staff if she felt or misunderstood my intention on the refund. Meant nothing but to reserve my right of having a decent service. I enjoyed the burger. Thank you! The fries was bitter to taste. Common issue with that deep fryer oil is pass due to change or not being filtered every night. I beg the inspector in that store to check security cameras to...
Read moreI have been using the drive thru here for 3 years now at least 3-4 times a week. While the staff is very polite and friendly the service and the food is definitely very poor.
The menu lists one price but you are charged more. When you mention it to the staff they don’t know what to do. It’s obvious the franchise owner is unaware of Canadian business laws related to pricing. I have been over charged for years now. Until I paid attention today to the listed price and the price I pay I would have not known.
You can count on pulling up to the drive thru and being told we will be with you in a moment. And they will come shortly. It’s always a long wait, but there are no customers inside or ahead of me so why am I waiting. The purpose of drive thru is speed and convenience. They will confirm the order and still often get it wrong. The hash browns are cooked in old oil or it’s not fresh. You can taste it, and they seem like they have been sitting there for a short period of time. The coffee is tasty but warm never hot. You have to tell them please give a hot coffee. Now this feedback has been shared in store previously as well and at the window. The workers are very polite but seem oblivious to quality control or inspection of what they are serving clients. If it weren’t so close to where I head daily and there is no line ups I most likely wouldn’t continue eating here. But the line up and Tim’s and McDs is extremely long, although the attention to the quality of food is much much higher. Definitely going to write to...
Read moreI stopped by this A&W location on Thursday evening and, unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. When I arrived, I was the only customer at the counter, yet it took approximately 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged me or took my order. The staff member present seemed more focused on the order screen with his back turned to the counter. It was only after another employee came by and asked if I had ordered yet that my presence was noticed.
Once my order was placed, it took another 8 to 10 minutes for the food to be prepared, which would have been understandable if the restaurant had been busy, but it was not. To add to this, once my meal was ready, it sat on the warming tray for a few more minutes before someone finally placed it into a bag. At that point, it almost felt like I could have reached over the counter and grabbed it myself.
On a positive note, the food itself was very good. The chicken burger was hot, crispy, and well-prepared, and the fries were fresh and enjoyable. However, I did notice that the employee preparing the food was not wearing gloves, and there was no visible handwashing in between handling equipment and assembling meals, which raised some food safety concerns.
Overall, while the food met expectations, the service experience and attention to proper food handling procedures were disappointing. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as this location has potential with some improvements in service attentiveness and food...
