The cleanest donair shop I've ever been in! I ordered the "big basha" with everything, the super friendly guy suggested a lil' garlic sauce to top it off, he was right. Fantastic donair! After I tucked in, I was blown away. Perfect ratio's of great ingredients. 3rd bite I hit that garlic spread and POW, it was awesome but I needed a soda (for my girlfriends sake). Pop on over to the cooler and I'm pleasantly surprised by the fact that in addition to the coca cola products they also carry a rainbow of Jarritos and Boylans. Toss a coin between Jarritos mandarin or pineapple. Mandarin is what the fates had in store for me. As I approach the counter, wallet in hand, Mr. Smile gives me a wink and a "Your all good bro". I return from my beverage expedition with renewed vigor and enthusiasm to reach the summit of mount basha. Alas, though beyond tasty, she proved to much for a mere mortal. Broken and disheartened, I vow to set my sights on a "regular basha" upon my return. As I skulk away, a husk of the man I thought I would become, Mr Smile the sherpa whom I had grown ever so fond of enquired about our adventure and time together. As I quickly look back though my memories his demeanour becomes contagious and I too smile as I realise that even though I was defeated we had formed an unspoken bond that would form the basis of tales for our grandchildren and our fame would cross continents. My posture straightens and my head is held high as I bellow "thanks dude, it was awesome" and it was. I leave through the front door not with shame for what I could not accomplish, but with pride...
Read moreWe were immediately welcomed by the super friendly staff as soon as my wife and I walked into Basha Donair.
They answered any questions we had, and made suggestions based on our tastes, even recommending that my wife shouldn't get tahini with tzatziki as it'd taste pretty off.
I ordered the Sasquatch, which was a massive Donair that has to be seen to be believed. At least a pound of donair meat goes into this monstrosity, with fresh tomatoes, onions, peppers, pickled radish, pickles and lettuce. I got mine with garlic sauce and tzatziki. It was incredible, tasty and fresh, and a solid effort to eat. I got about 2/3 down before I gave up. They have a competition, that if you eat one in 5 minutes, it's free AND they'll give you another one on the house. You can also add your name to their wall for everyone to admire. Pretty cool.
The wife got chicken with all the fixings ( minus hot peppers), tzatziki and garlic sauce. She absolutely loved it.
I also got a side of their spicy fries, which were mixed in with jalapeno peppers and banana peppers, coated in a red spice mix, and served with a dollop of sour cream on top. They hit the 'goldilocks' heat zone. Not too spicy, but hot enough to make an impression.
All in all, a great place to eat. Our cashier, Jordan, was super personable, funny and helpful. He threw in a couple of extra sauces with our order, which we really appreciated.
If you want a great Donair at a good price, Basha is the...
Read moreWe ordered from this location last night - the food was, by and large, really delicious. I, in particular, enjoyed the Sasquatch donair; believe me, it really did live up to its name! It was really delicious, stuffed to the gills with all the fixings, but while I don't think I'd tackle such a big meal again in a long time, I will definitely consider this location whenever I'm in need of a donair fix.
However, while we were quite happy with our order, one family member did not like the burger and fries he requested - he ordered a mushroom swiss burger, but he said that the burger lacked mushrooms and was pretty sloppily made, not holding well together. Not tasty either - as for the fries, the quality and quantity were both good, but there were too many peppers; of course, as this is our first time ordering from this location, we chalked it up to just an off night.
Overall, if you're in need of a filling, delicious meal,...
