Went in couple of days ago with my friend, while walking in, no one greeted us so we just went to the bar. The girl bartending didn’t acknowledge us so we just sat ourselves. Felt like we were inconveniencing her.
Pilsner jugs were on special that night so we ordered one. It looked very flat, then once pouring into the (very smelly, smelt like piss/or undried chemicals) glass that was brought it was indeed flat. We both tried it. We called over the bartender/server and mentioned to her that it’s flat maybe it’s the end of the keg or something, literally no “oh sorry about that, I’ll go check the keg” or “I’m sorry can I get you different one or what can I do.” No empathy. Instead, she gave a very blank look to us, shrugged her shoulders, and snapped back in a very rude tone “what would like then, I don’t know what you want me to do”. Well, he switched to a different beer, which was OK. But she didn’t bother to check back if it was or not.
We were going to order some food and probably have a couple more drinks, but with the attitude from that server, Vanessa, she definitely didn’t make us feel welcome. So we went and spent our money elsewhere and enjoyed the service there much more.
Both of us are in the food service industry in management/owner positions; if one of our servers ever treated our guests like that, they definitely wouldn’t be having a job much longer…
Wouldn’t recommend, although they do have some nice pools tables and it would be a good...
Read moreIt wasn't a busy place either time I went. Maybe it is on game days.
However, I was extremely pleased by the reasonable prices for a burger and ample quantity of food (Tired of getting 10 small fries with my meal elsewhere). Rare to find these days but if they play to that fact they can probably draw a good crowd given the overinflated prices elsewhere, likely preventing people from eating out. The food itself, while nothing extravagent was better quality than many more expensive places I have been (like the slimy burgers Original Joes has had of late), and tasted rather good (by contrast). I however cannot speak to most of the other menu items, but the selection was quite good.
The service wasn't the most ...attentive I have had, but the server was friendly and considerate. The speed for food was also pretty good. I would call it average in the ideal, but above average in practise (sadly).
The atmospherics aren't something you would probably want for a 'fancy date night' but it was a comfortable sort of place. For a pub/lounge/bar thing, it was pretty well kept and updated. So if your reservation at said fancy restaurant fell through, it's better than A&W (which isn't the worst place).
If you want to hang out with your friends and don't want to pay a fortune, this is the place I would suggest. Or if you are by yourself and just hungry,...
Read moreI've lived in the area a while and passed this place many times, so my friend and I decided to go there a couple months ago to watch a hockey game. We called ahead to make sure they'd be playing that game, and they said no problem. I got there and no on greeted me, so I started wandering around looking. Finally a girl came up and asked if I needed help, I said I was there to watch the game, and she proceeded to disappear. Eventually came back and said they would play it on a certain screen, and then she offered to sit us way far away from that screen. The tables close to the screen were completely empty. She said they were reserved. She then disappeared and another girl was going back and forth and didn't say a word to me. Needless to say I stood there for a while looking around while they ignored me, and then left. Those girls made it clear they didn't want my business. I've served for years and this is not how you treat customers. I will not go...
