Vienna Bakery — Restaurant in Edmonton

After reading the reviews - I was expecting it to be much and much better.

Let's start from positive - great service! Very pleasant and smiley girls! Explained and answered every my question :) and even recommended something that I eventually liked. Another positive - for 5 pieces of pastry I paid just $12!

From not so positives... First - schedule. Pretty tough to find time to get there as I also work 8 am to 5 pm office job with frequent Saturdays, and Sundays this bakery is closed. I was planning to get here for couple of months! Second - location. Google maps does not recognize that you have to turn into a small street mall and tells you to turn onto 63 Avenue and then "your destination will be on the right" and all there is - a wall. Had to loop around couple of times to finally get there.

Most important - product. Their breads might be good - have not tried, but pastry part... Not as much. Although I did like cherry square and poppy seed square (not a fan of poppy seeds, but this one is definitely good one), but almond square was a complete disappointment - no flavor, very crumbly, and even dipped in chocolate part did not make it any better.

Conclusion - hit and miss. Simple pastries, some good, some not as much. Possibly good bread - will come...
