Accidental Beach is truly a hidden gem, perfect for families looking for a fun-filled day by the water. What impressed me the most was the access to the beach. It was exceptionally kids-friendly, making it easy for little ones to explore and play while parents can relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.
One of the standout features of Accidental Beach was the shallow water. It is ideal for families with young children who want to dip their toes or take a refreshing swim without worrying about deep waters. The shallow areas provide a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.
The beach itself offers a picturesque setting, nestled along the North Saskatchewan River with soft golden sand spread out. It's an excellent spot to bask in the sun, build sandcastles, or have a leisurely stroll along the shoreline.
Accidental Beach also offers some amenities to enhance your visit. Restrooms are conveniently located nearby, ensuring easy access for families. Furthermore, there are picnic tables and shaded areas where you can enjoy a packed lunch or simply relax and take in the breathtaking surroundings.
I must not forget to mention that the beach is well-maintained, and the staff does an excellent job of keeping the area clean and safe for visitors. It was evident that they take great pride in ensuring everyone has a fantastic experience.
In conclusion, Accidental Beach in Edmonton is a must-visit destination for families seeking a delightful outdoor adventure. The kids-friendly access and shallow water make it an excellent choice, ensuring a worry-free experience for parents while little ones have a splashing good time. Read moreGreat Beach and super nice place to take your family, clean and safe. THere is lots of parking at the ski club and the top of the hill, you can even park at rafters landing or the Muttart. Lots of street parking too but so many people are using it I can see the residents of Cloverdale who have been so patient and are pretty chatty banding together and asking the city to restrict the parking entirely to residents only like they do in other river valley communities. I think if we all just imagine what it is like to suddenly have 3000 cars jam your neighborhood streets every day and park a little further away the residents of cloverdale will fight along with everyone else to keep the beach. A little courtesy and empathy goes a long way folks so if you want to keep the beach and I really think we need to, lets get those residents on our side and not give them a reason to start fighting the city to get rid of it. (It is an election year...
Read moreThis beach is such an amazing happening. It brings about an atmosphere of inclusiveness and comrodery. People are friendly to one another and everyone does there part to make it safe, enjoyable, and clean. Personally I think city council has done a great job of just letting it happen without trying to step in with regulations or assuming responsibility.
The beach itself is amazing. One of the best in Alberta. The sand is clean and plentiful. There is lots of space (albeit lots of beachgoers as well) and you can't beat the view.
Hopefully the city will decide to make it permanent. I fear that it likely will loose some of its magic though once it is properly serviced. I highly recommend visiting this year while it is solely operated by the citizens of YEG.
What an amazing summer attraction in the heart of the winterest city in...
