Brewsters Brewing Company and Restaurant - Meadowlark — Restaurant in Edmonton

Went here for a first date. The location is a bit tricky due to the construction but you just have to be patient. Once inside it seems a little bit dark but the back has lots of windows that make it nice and bright. Decided that since the weather was nice to sit outside. They have a sizeable patio. Had to ask the servers how to get outside though. The opening is behind a counter that I didn't think I was allowed behind. We laughed and I took the table to the right, sat and waited for my date. While waiting I got to hang out with a little mouse! Sadly, it was the highlight of my date. This lil mouse kept on staring at me and was just adorable. My rating has nothing to do with the mouse though. I quite enjoyed his company. While waiting for my date I asked the servers if I could sample two of their fruitier beers as I'm on the hunt for one that I like. They provided me with two lil glasses of them. Tried their 52nd St Peach Ale and their River City Raspberry Ale. Preferred the Raspberry, believe I got a 12 oz. which came with raspberries on top. For my meal I picked their Fish Tacos. Love me a good fish taco and theirs came with fries which at other places they do not. The fish tacos were seasoned with southwestern spiced haddock, chipotle slaw, sriracha mayo and pico de gallo on a grilled tortillas. As normal you get three and they're small. What I noticed was for $16.99, there was such a small portion of fish in my taco, it made me wonder why the cost was $16.99. It tasted really good and I loved that I didn’t need to add anything else for flavor, but the amount of fish was tiny and that is where they failed. Maybe had the serving of fries been bigger since they’re a filler, I would have been okay. But for $16.99 I find it to be overpriced for what you got. My date got chicken fingers and fries. His portion of fries was also quite small. Overall I loved their patio and patio mouse, their selection of beer is good, still on a hunt for one that I really love and I wouldn’t order the fish tacos as there was soo little fish that it does not...

We came for the wing deal and the service was terrible. We seated ourselves in the bar section of the restaurant, the server is placing menus down on the table looking absolutely confused at us and is giving us a weird look the whole time. She only brought the first round of drinks for us, every other time it was brought by someone else. About 10-15 minutes after the food is brought out she finally comes back to ask how it is or if we need anything else. She left and didn’t come back for a while again. When she eventually came back I ordered 10 dry rub wings, these took quite awhile to come out but i figure thats normal during wing night. They were brought by another person and she said a different flavour than I ordered but ran away before I could say anything. We tried to wave our server down TWICE while she was going from table to table in her section, she completely ignored ANY eye contact and ran off too. She came back 15 minutes later after the food was dropped off and I told her these were the wrong flavour and that I no longer wanted my wings as I had to wait 15 minutes for her to come back to tell her they were wrong, overall waiting 30 minutes for the wrong order and was not willing to wait longer. We just asked for the bills and she walked away and starts taking orders of new tables that came in. She eventually comes back with the bills and looks so annoyed during this entire interaction. Once the last person paid she tossed the receipt on the table and ran off, no “have a good night” or literally anything… Overall the wings were good and a good price, I would go to a different location before...

This was my first time at this location and I had walked in to pick up a take out order after my bf and I had done renos all day. I waited at the front for a while, not seeing anyone around. Then this guy came in behind me and walked straight in, a server came and greeted him immediately and another came and convinced him to sit at her bar, then they all looked at me and walked away so I followed suit assuming I would get the same service.... I had to find my way to someone who finally noticed me (there were servers doing deep cleaning duties and a pretty empty restaurant) and she rudely assumed I was a skip driver and continued to start her bar customers and chat with other servers at the bar... so I went to see if the kitchen could just help me as I could see my food sitting there (been there about 15 mins now), the server rudely said "you can't wait here" and snapped at me so I just said I'd wait where I can ensure I'm being helped... and seconds after she walked into the back, a manager walked over and only said "Don't talk to my staff like that" not ask why I was upset or any kind of hospitality. It's a damn shame because I really love brewsters food and live across the road, but as a former manager at a chain restaurant, I can't support such horrible service and wouldn't want these girls making a cent off me.. embarrassing. Not to mention the manager who was back in the kitchen with my food sitting in the window...
