It used to be a pleasure to go to Bulk Barn. We would take our time, leisurely looking at all the goodies they had to offer, (usually buying more than what we came for😉) This trip left me feeling rushed, crowded, and very disappointed overall, and was made to feel like a common criminal on top of it. We first entered the store that was void of all people,(which was great with COVID in full swing,) but there was no staff to be seen as well! We followed the markings on the floor and headed for our first bin where we grabbed a bag, and this is where things got awkward. Out of nowhere a young man came, putting gloves on and stating he must be the one to do the filling of bags for us due to COVID-19 protocol and he would be at our disposal to get what is needed, that we were to follow the arrows on the floor throughout the store. No problem...right? He then followed us around for some time as we browsed the first isle feeling watched, then more customers came so he went off to help them leaving us briefly as we watched some customers filling their own bags! We turned to go down the next isle to find a man with a cart (not following the arrows) as another store employee helped him not saying a word. We waited. Then out of nowhere again, arrived the store employee we originally had asking if we needed anything again staying on our heals watching us and following. I soon tired of this and felt crowded and watched as he hovered over us. Before leaving hastily I went over to the tea and coffee section quickly to see if I could find a special tea and was followed there as well, so feeling rushed and feeling like I was committing a crime, I asked about vanilla earl grey...he didn't know what it was😐 I would have loved to have had the chance to browse the supplements but felt very rushed and under observation, this was their loss as I would have spent far more than I had that visit, but I couldn't wait to get out of there at that point! To top it all off....all the items I did buy are ruined! Everything smells and tastes rancid! Not cool when you spend good money on macadamia nuts and snacks! So turned off...I might not...
Read moreI have been a customer of Bulk Barn for several years. Totally delighted with the assortment, organization, cleanliness, order, and customer service at South Edmonton Common.
We moved to the west of the city and of course I have to go the closest one but I am absolutely disappointed with the Bulk Barn on the west side, it is the third time at this store and it is the third time something has happened and that is why I definitely sat down to write this review.
There is no assortment, the attention and customer service is terrible. I went on Tuesday and asked for 2 products and one of the 2 ladies who were there told me that she was very busy, that she knew that the products were somewhere but that she didn't have time to go and that I had to come back in 2 or 3 days (Absolutely rude and lacking of customer service) and then I had to pay at the register and the lady typed one code wrong (it was written correctly) she tells me that she can't solve the problem and she asks the other lady and she says no, so they tell me that I must go the next day for the manager to solve it, they gave me a number to call before and when I called they told me that they had no idea who the Manager is. So, I finally decided knowing that they did not have what I needed I went to the South Edmonton Common and there, of course, they had everything as always and they also solved and refunded me the money for the mistake made on...
Read moreI usually am a fan of Bulk Barn and enjoy their bulk supply, as well as the baking products. Today I was at this store and got a few items from their baking supplies. I had a few questions and one of their staff was super nice and answered all my questions. Later, at the checkout, I was charged higher than the shelf price tag for one of the items, a cookie cutter. When I informed the cashier, he called for the manager, and in a rude way the manager told me the best she can do is to either give me a refund, or sell the item for the shelf price. Although it was less than $10 and it was their mistake, she refused to give the item for free according to Canada's "Scanner Price Accuracy" policy. I know so many people don't check their receipts, but I would suggest you to double (or even triple) check your receipt, because they can easily steal from you and blame it on their system! That's what the acting manager did today! And that's exactly why Canada has the Price Accuracy Policy, so corporations will be in charge of the price accuracy, not...
