Pho Tasty — Restaurant in Northwest Industrial

Not sure if the girl was new to customer service but it was very hard to get her attention for anything. When we finally got her attention to order, she simply said: “no im not taking orders” and left. We were confused but decided to wait to see if another server would come. However, a few minutes later, the same girl seated a new group down and took their orders before finally walking over to take ours. This is the part that doesn’t sit well with me. We had arrived a good while before the previous group, and asked if we could have our orders taken before the new group even sat down. We were simply told: “no” only to see a new group get their food first. Our food took a whole 20 minutes after their food had arrived. It also took us a very long time to get our water refilled. I’m sure she meant no harm but having that happen made us feel very confused and uncomfortable. Hopefully this is just error...

I got take out from here while visiting Edmonton, as I enjoy a good bowl of pho I orederd ahead while we went and picked up other food elsewhere for the kids. When I got there, they had prepared the wrong kind of soup. Not sure how "beef sate pho" translates into "beef steak noodle soup," but no biggie. Had to sit and wait another 15 minutes for the pho, and when I got to the hotel and unpack aged it, I was disappointed. There was maybe 8-10 max, very small thin slices of beef (and I mean paper thin,) and that's it. I ordered a large pho, and to get so few slices of beef was a let down. I felt like I was being punished for their mistake in preparing the wrong soup. The place I go to at home has probably triple the portion of beef. On the upside, the broth...

I’ve had ~200 bowls of pho in my life, so this review is weighed against experience.

Ordered #17, pickup at the counter. Order came fast, excellent. I asked for a container to have some Sambal (serving containers on each table) and was told “no, boss says too expensive.” I didn’t argue, just grabbed the order and left…my bad, probably should have pointed out the 10c of cost, and not equitable to sitting in the restaurant.

Broth was mediocre and way too much rock sugar, no depth. Cloudy broth, likely from not boiling the bones first. One piece of brisket, 7-8 pieces of beef (not rare, hammered to being white coloured and paper thin) and two pieces of tough tendon.

Bean sprouts were fresh and yummy.
